CGI helps solve critical newsroom challenges at IBC2022

Tue 27, 09 2022

At IBC2022, CGI will showcase the latest updates to its impressive array of media solutions on Stand 8.A65. Designed to help solve the critical challenges of modern broadcasters and radio stations, including cybersecurity and increasing remote working, these solutions are ideally placed to help broadcast newsrooms navigate an era of dynamic change as TV meets radio and merges with online and social.

CGI is committed to enabling story-centric workflows, and thus will have new features on show in Amsterdam such as the integration of its OpenMedia newsroom system with Microsoft Teams. This will allow all communication and data relating to a specific story or subject to be viewed directly in OpenMedia.

Visitors to the CGI stand will also be able to see how the OpenMedia NewsBoard has been rebuilt from the ground up to enable journalists and editorial teams to organize story-centric planning and production processes from anywhere. Meanwhile, the new cloud-native ReporterApp for Android and iOS allows reporters in the field to automatically stay connected to their newsroom and collaborate on content.

The company reaffirms its commitment to radio broadcasters by shipping version 1.0 of dira! Dimension, the new generation of the dira! product suite designed to solve the challenges of operating radio services while pivoting staff to work from home, facilitating remote audio editing professionally, securely and reliably. CGI also releases a new version of dira! Onair Player, its all-in-one command center for modern radio workflows enabling assisted and automated playout-operation.

CGI will also highlight its abilities to protect critical infrastructure for national broadcasters and other media companies. Through its team of1,700 cybersecurity professionals, eight security operations centers, and two certification andtest labs, CGI provides a diverse range of services including strategic and technical cybersecurityconsulting, intrusion detection, penetration testing, engineering and architecture, advanced Managed Security Services and IncidentResponse.

Michael Thielen, Vice President – Media Solutions at CGI said, “We are glad to be back at IBC2022 to share our latest media innovations that solve today’s unique workflow challenges, from keeping teams connected while working remotely, to protecting broadcasters against the threat of cyber attacks.”
