Fri 19, 02 2021
We are happy to welcome David Herfert to Net Insight! David is an industry veteran in the Media and Entertainment landscape with over 20 years of technical sales experience based on a solid foundation in the telecommunications space from the days of ‘dial tone’ to next generation 100G transport.
“David has a proven track-record of driving value to technology and many companies in the industry which will be invaluable to Net Insight as we continue providing solutions that bridge the gap between baseband and IP, onpremise and cloud based media architectures,” said Mårten Blixt, CCO at Net Insight. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Net Insight family!”
“Now working as Director of Strategic Sales for Net Insight and reunited with the Aperi technology, Nimbra Edge and a rich history of the Nimbra media transport family of products, I will combine my knowledge gained over the years to support our customers and look forward to working with the long standing relationships of friends and colleagues built over the past 20 years,” said David.
Originally a California native, now based on the Eastern seaboard in Rhode Island where David enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters on boating, skiing and outdoor adventures.
David’s extensive industry background
David began his career as a Nortel DMS 500 switch technician with Nextlink Communications (now Verizon Communications) where he was first introduced to fiber optic transport technology. He later joined Cisco Systems Optical Network Group a Sales Engineering role supporting ‘greenfield’ network deployments.
In 2001, the media industry came calling and Dave joined Artel Video Systems as Director of Sales for the Western Region of the United States. Dave then joined the team at Video Products Group where he became the Vice President of Sales for North America and supported the Ventura product line. It was deployed across all major telecom companies and used for many high-profile events ranging from presidential inaugurations to championship sporting events. As the IP standards began to emerge, Dave decided to join Media Links in 2006 and became Head of Global Sales.
In 2018, Dave joined Aperi Corporation as Vice President of the Americas to bring new FPGA based technology to the US market, modeled around an ‘app store’ and ‘pay as you go’ model, as the world of contribution media applications continued to drive towards ‘virtualization’.
In 2020, Dave joined Zixi where he increased his knowledge of cloud-based contribution and distribution media workflows and applied his background to gain entrance to the major fiber-based carriers.
