Etere HSM extends its support to the latest LTO format generation, LTO9. LTO-9 delivers increased tape cartridge capacity with up to 18 tb/45 tb compressed. The new release comes with benefits including increased tape cartridge capacity with up to 45TB of storage when compressed, data loss and data corruption mitigation, protection against ransomeware, easy data retrievals, high availability, the flexibility to WORM (Write-Once, Read-Many), full read and write compatibility with LTO 8 cartridges and compatibility assurance with LTO-10 cartridges. LTO-9 offers a lower Total Cost of Ownership with a multi-layer security support.

As an open system, Etere HSM gives users full flexibility to manage a mix of industry file systems with a centralised console. The list of supported file systems include Linear Tape-Open (LTO) storage, Sony Optical Disc Archive (ODA) storage, Disk Archive, Object Storage and Cloud Storage.

Etere’s integrated workflow orchestration and asset management helps users to effectively pivot a multi-vendor archive storage strategy to maximize the value of their digital assets. With quick and easy workflow automation, users can create an archive copy of all critical data on the performance storage and a backup copy on secure storage. Optionally, a disaster recovery copy can also be stored offsite.
