Held from November 14 to 17, 2024, the Macau Grand Prix drew over 100,000 spectators and presented enormous challenges in terms of broadcast complexity and scalability. The legacy baseband video system in use was no longer sufficient—it lacked the flexibility, scalability, and reliability needed for modern live production.
Overcoming Infrastructure Challenges
Video transmission was often unstable, cabling was cumbersome, and distribution to various critical areas—such as the main control center, commentary booths, and security rooms—was limited and inefficient. This hindered real-time collaboration among production, broadcast, and safety teams.
