Quicklink celebrates 20 years powering the broadcast, production and media industry

Thu 25, 05 2023

In May 2023, Quicklink celebrate being 20 years in business. In this time, Quicklink have become an industry leader in providing professional, best-in-class remote production (REMI) hardware, software, and cloud solutions to over 800 valued clients worldwide.Initially, Quicklink was established with the idea of building an encoder for BBC and ABC News to cover the Iraq war, which provided the world’s first field transmission. This particular encoder was built at Quicklink’s first workspace, a garden shed, which was fittingly nicknamed “The Green Room” by BBC.

Quicklink was the first-ever company to pioneer the idea of broadcast software on a personal computer and the Quicklink Laptop Newsgathering software (LNG) was completely revolutionary in its day. This was soon followed by the first ever commercial macOS and Windows software for the transmission of live real-time video and audio from a remote field location.
