Solid State Logic (SSL) successfully participated in the Spring 2020 JT-NM Tested program, with the HC Bridge SRC and other devices from the SSL Network I/O range included in the “JT-NM Self-Tested” catalogue for ST 2110.
Providing audio production services for outside broadcast events and sports has slowly been moving away from the traditional OB truck scenario as the industry battles with reduced budgets and – more recently – with the need to reduce engineers physically being in attendance. This has resulted in new solutions to manage audio productions: ‘remote’ and ‘at home’ production.

Antony David – CEO, Solid State Logic, explains the benefits of AOIP networks and why those implemented today will mesh with the evolving SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS IS-04 standards. An example of a fully networked multi-room production facility at a major European broadcaster will illustrate these points and the capabilities.
Audio over IP solutions have been developed to meet TV Production requirements and have been integrated into digital infrastructures that include early video over IP deployments. In this presentation Antony David (Managing Director, Solid State Logic) describes two such installations; at Canal Factory (a Canal+ production facility) in Paris and at YouTube’s studios in London, and discuss the evolution of IP technologies as they converge on the SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
