PHABRIX to demonstrate new QxP portable waveform monitor at the Media Production & Technology Show 2023

Tue 25, 04 2023

Thatcham, UK – 25 April 2023: Test & measurement innovator, PHABRIX has revealed that it will showcase its latest groundbreaking solution, the QxP next-generation portable waveform monitor, at the 2023 edition of the Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS). PHABRIX will also be demonstrating its full product line up, including the Qx/QxL IP/SDI, 4K/UHD and HDR rasterizers and the renowned Sx Series of handheld instruments, featuring the hybrid IP/SDI Sx TAG.

The UK’s largest event for the broadcast, media, production, and technology industry, MPTS will take place at Olympia London on 10 and 11 May 2023.Exhibiting on Stand K40, PHABRIX will afford MPTS delegates the opportunity to interact with, and find out more about, the QxP waveform monitor. Providing an integral 3U multi-touch LCD screen with integral V-Mount or G-Mount battery plates for portability, the QxP features the same flexible architecture as the highly acclaimed QxL rasterizer. Developed to suit a wide variety of production workflows – including HD, UHD, SDR, HDR, SDI, IP, remote and studio-based – the QxP’s combined waveform monitor, generator and analyzer toolsets are intended to meet the continually evolving requirements of today’s hybrid environments.Incorporating PHABRIX’s patented waveform technology with a high-resolution image processing pipeline that offers support for deep color sources up to 12-bits, the QxP delivers all the fine detail required for camera shading or image grading. Users can access a choice of overlay, stacked and parade display modes, along with the option of multi-coloured, highlighted, green or monochrome traces. Nits scales and user-controlled markers are provided for SDR, HLG, PQ, S-Log3 and SR-live HDR formats. Rec 709 and Rec 2020 colorimetry is supported over the wide range of YCbCr:422, RGB:444, SDI, 2110, SD/HD/2K/UHD/4K/EUHD formats for which PHABRIX is renowned. For those applications requiring real-time IP capabilities, the QxP incorporates support for generation and analysis of HD/3G/2K/UHD/4K/EUHD 2110 payloads on generic SFP28/25GbE interfaces. The unit’s flexible architecture offers in-field engineering-grade data view and ANC packet inspection tools together with optional upgrades for SDI-UHD/4K, 2110-UHD/4K 48-60p RGB (EUHD), PCAP, Dolby E Decode, HDR, and AV test signal generation. A factory-fitted hardware option provides RTE™ ‘Real Time Eye’ and jitter SDI analysis with the further option of a highly advanced SDI-STRESS toolset.Phillip Adams, CEO at PHABRIX comments: “MPTS has become one of the most important events in the annual broadcast technology calendar. It represents a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce the newest member of the PHABRIX test and measurement line-up – the QxP – which is a genuine game-changer: the world’s first portable 12G-SDI and 25G ST 2110 combined waveform monitor, generator and analyzer. With all the functionality of our QxL rasterizer, but in a lightweight 3RU chassis, and with multiple interface control options, the QxP constitutes a next-generation alternative to traditional waveform monitor technology. We can’t wait to showcase its many capabilities to MPTS visitors in May.”
