Melbourne, Australia – 19 June 2023: Mediaproxy, the global standard for software-based IP compliance solutions, has supplied two LogServer servers to French private national broadcaster M6 as its new video logging system. This continues the uptake of Mediaproxy’s compliance monitoring technology in France, which has seen systems installed at NextRadioTV and NRJ Group.
Also known as Métropole Television, M6 is the third most watched TV service in the French-speaking world. It is the flagship channel of Groupe M6, a media group that owns other TV channels as well as radio stations and production companies. M6 broadcasts a mixture of news plus drama and reality shows (both home produced and US imports) to a largely young audience.
In the search for a new video logger to replace its obsolete Volicon Observer system, M6 consulted Visionetics, Mediaproxy’s technology partner in France. The broadcaster selected LogServer not only for its logging capabilities but also to increase the range of functions that can be offered to the operators who use it. These include full compliance monitoring and analysis of channels on both SDI and TSoIP (Transport Streams over IP) outputs, as well as social media. There are also plans to use LogServer to monitor SCTE-104 and SCTE-35 insertion messages.
Commenting on the deal with M6, Eric Hautefeuille, general manager of Visionetics, said, “I am proud to announce that after stringent diligence, M6 selected Mediaproxy and Visionetics to replace its previous logging solution. Mediaproxy’s comprehensive range of features, reliability, and expert support services of Visionetics during the proof-of-concept period, made it an easy decision to commit to LogServer for their next-generation platform.”
Visionetics, a specialist in digital multimedia, broadband access, and wireless communications, has also supplied Mediaproxy systems to the NextRadioTV group, which comprises BFM TV and RMC, and NRJ Group, owner of 33 FM and 220 internet radio stations, 12 mobile apps, and replay TV services.
“France is a vital and growing media market for us in Europe, and we are pleased to be working with leading broadcasters such as M6, NextRadioTV, and NRJ,” says Erik Otto, chief executive of Mediaproxy. “With Visionetics as our partner and representative, we are well-placed to expand our reach and work with other broadcast groups there, both in TV and radio.”
