IABM announced the winners of the 2023 IABM Annual Awards and the Peter Wayne Golden BaM® Award at its gala Awards dinner held in London on 7 December 2023. The Awards dinner followed IABM’s BaM Live™ London event earlier in the day.
The Annual Award winners were chosen from entries across six categories: Andrew Jones Young Person of the Year; Technology Leader of the Year; Broadcast/Media Company of the Year; Community Impact Award; M&E Mentoring Award; and Environmental Sustainability.
The Peter Wayne Golden BaM Award® – named in honor of the former IABM Vice Chairman – recognizes the very best of the best of the 20 BaM Awards® category winners at the 2023 NAB Show and IBC BaM Awards®.
The 2023 IABM Annual Awards winners are:
Andrew Jones Young Person of the Year

Community Impact Award
“Backlight strongly believes that it will take more than nurturing young talent to realize a more equitable future in media and entertainment, especially with marginalized communities that are routinely underfunded. Hence Backlight supports and helps to fund projects as well as gifting its free software with on-boarding tutorials to the Howard University Film Organization which fosters an environment where stories by young Black creatives can thrive.”
M&E Mentoring award
Amy DeLouise, Chief Creative Officer, DeLouise Enterprises, and Founder, #GALSNGEAR
“A large part of Amy’s career has been spent mentoring and coaching other media professionals. She has helped more than 220,000 learners with her video production and business courses, and has led dozens of sessions for hundreds of digital storytellers. Amy also provides regular follow-up to mentor young people new to the industry, with a focus on the underserved and black, indigenous, and other people of color communities. In 2016 Amy launched #GALSNGEAR, a movement to bring “tequity” to women in media, tech and entertainment, and has brought more than 250 women to industry stages. In 2023, Amy launched the #GALSNGEAR Sports Working Group.”
Environmental Sustainability
“Genelec’s sustainability commitment is pervasive to everything they do – from how they source their raw materials, such as using recycled aluminum, to manufacturing to solar panels on the roof and to establishing a “certified pre-owned” business which avoids our all-too-common throw-away mentality. The winner of the 2023 Peter Wayne Golden BaM Award® is:
Newsbridge – MXT-1 Generative AI indexing technology
“This product has great potential to reduce the burden on metadata generation by providing timely access to video content analytics. The ability to source content metadata by utilizing in a multi-threaded engine can help reduce time to market, provide consistency and reduce the labor requirements on post production workflows.”
