High-performance media storage specialist ELEMENTS set to unveil productivity boost for post professionals at IBC2024

ELEMENTS, a leader in media storage and management, is bringing a significant productivity boost to post-production professionals with its latest innovation, ELEMENTS BLINK. This game-changing solution delivers remarkably fast, flexible, and secure connectivity for BeeGFS filesystems to both Windows and MacOS workstations.

ELEMENTS has built a strong reputation by leveraging the open-source BeeGFS file system, originally designed for the world’s fastest supercomputers. By integrating BeeGFS into its storage appliances, ELEMENTS has created a powerful environment for complex hybrid and on-premises networks, providing exceptional performance and usability for the media industry.

While BeeGFS was initially developed exclusively for Linux, ELEMENTS BLINK now brings the full power of BeeGFS to Windows and macOS, enabling connectivity to storage networks over ethernet. This allows professionals to enjoy all the advantages of the ELEMENTS architecture, including flexible automation, asset management, and lightning-fast content delivery, without the need for single-purpose Fibre Channel infrastructures.

“Production and post workflows are continually demanding more speed and productivity,” said Heiner Lesaar, CTO of ELEMENTS. “We developed ELEMENTS BLINK to meet these needs for desktop workstations, maximizing the performance of storage and network infrastructure while providing greater stability and significantly reducing latency and CPU load typically seen with standard NAS protocols.”

At IBC2024, ELEMENTS will showcase its latest advancements in cloud technology alongside new iterations of its hardware products. Notably, the mobile CUBE storage appliance will experience a significant performance boost with the adoption of NVMe storage, doubling the internal performance and capacity of the previous SSD version. This upgrade enables 10 GB/s for internal transfers and offers up to 200 TB of usable capacity in a single device.

In addition to its storage appliances and cloud solutions, ELEMENTS also licenses its technology to third-party storage vendors that meet its stringent requirements. Recently, Qumulo joined the list of qualified partners, alongside Quantum Xcellis and Dell-EMC OneFS. The possibilities of rich hybrid storage networks and high-performance connectivity will be key highlights at ELEMENTS’ IBC stand demonstrations.

“IBC is arguably the world’s leading technology event for the media and entertainment industries, putting some of the most pioneering and future-focused companies center stage,” Lesaar confirmed. “ELEMENTS is proud to exhibit annually: it gives us the perfect platform to unveil our latest and most exciting technological developments while being inspired by everything happening around us.”
