In June 2025, the 61st Course de Côte de Vuillafans-Échevanne took place in France. One of the most challenging events in the French Hillclimb Championship, the 4.8 km course featured steep inclines, sharp turns, and varied terrain, testing both drivers and vehicles to their limits.
PILOTES.tv, a motorsport media company, was tasked with streaming it live. The mountainous, remote location made transmission difficult, and traditional setups often suffered from instability and limited monitoring. Multiple camera feeds also had to be streamed simultaneously to the production center and online platforms.
To capture every thrilling moment, they required a solution that was reliable, flexible, and easy to deploy—capable of handling multi-camera, long-duration live streams under unpredictable network conditions.
Facing Extreme Challenges in Live Motorsport Broadcasting
Live streaming from the mountainous Vuillafans-Échevanne posed major challenges. Located in remote eastern France, the complicated terrain forced the team to tackle multiple technical obstacles:
- Unstable network signals: Mountainous terrain caused connection drops, threatening uninterrupted streaming.
- Multi-camera & multi-platform streaming: Coordinating multiple camera feeds while delivering them reliably to the production center and online platforms added transmission complexity.
- Limited real-time monitoring: Their traditional setups lacked feedback, making stream verification and troubleshooting hard.
- Long-duration coverage: Some broadcasts lasted several hours, requiring steady, uninterrupted streams.
- Environmental constraints: Rugged, remote terrain required portable, durable, and easy-to-deploy equipment.
To overcome these challenges, the team adopted Kiloview’s P3 Mini wireless bonding encoders, deploying multiple units for reliable, smooth, and lightweight streaming.
Reliable Multi-Camera Remote Streaming with Kiloview Solution
Live broadcasting from the Vuillafans-Échevanne track is no easy task, especially with the complex and unpredictable challenges. PILOTES.tv implemented Kiloview’s IP-based bonding solution, using multiple P3 Mini units and KiloLink Server Pro for signal aggregation, multi-camera management, and reliable transmission.
- On-Site Capture: 3 × P3 Mini Wireless Bonding Encoder
- Aggregation & Management: KiloLink Server Pro (on-site)
- Output Production: vMix

To maintain uninterrupted live streaming under fluctuating network conditions, P3 Mini units leveraged multi-channel bonding for reliable connectivity.
- 5-CH bonding aggregated multiple networks (4G SIMs: Orange, SFR, Bouygues + Starlink) for feed stability.
- Three P3 Mini units encoded SDI/HDMI feeds at 720p25 using a fixed 2 Mbps bitrate, while also supporting load balancing and dynamic bitrate adjustment for smoother streaming if needed.
Centralized Management with KiloLink Server Pro
All camera feeds were aggregated as SRT streams via the on-premise KiloLink Server Pro, enabling real-time monitoring, seamless switching, and reliable delivery to the Strasbourg production center and online platforms (YouTube and Facebook). The team could instantly check each stream’s status for timely troubleshooting.
Long-Duration Reliability
P3 Mini kept streams stable throughout the event, supported by multi-network bonding for reliable connectivity, strong signal reception in remote areas, and long-lasting batteries with PD fast charging, enabling multiple 3-hour sessions per day and up to 10 hours of uninterrupted operation.
Lightweight, Rapid, and Flexible Deployment
On the one hand, P3 Mini’s compact, battery-powered design allowed quick placement and repositioning along the track. On the other hand, the team used an on-premise KiloLink Server Pro, avoiding external server costs, while the P3 Mini offers flexible private server deployment or direct streaming from the device, simplifying setup and reducing latency.
Live Streaming Without Limits on the Mountain Track
Despite the remote location and rugged terrain, Kiloview’s versatile, IP-based streaming solution delivered exceptional results.
“We first tested a single P3 Mini, and it worked immediately. On-site, the system was quickly deployed by multiple camera operators on their own. Once the unit turned red, it was ready to stream, and the production team received the live feed seamlessly, without interruptions.”——Gilles Huntzinger, Camera Operator at PILOTES.tv
Even in areas with no mobile signal, P3 Mini paired with Starlink ensured up to 10 hours of uninterrupted multi-camera streaming. Its compact, battery-powered design allowed quick deployment along the track, capturing every moment with ease. All feeds were reliably transmitted to the production center, maintaining smooth, high-quality streams. This deployment demonstrated the P3 Minis stability and efficiency, proving it as a flexible and reliable solution for live broadcasting in remote locations.
