Kiloview Brings Remote Patagonia’s Festival Live to the World

Fri 16, 01 2026

Music, culture, and community come alive each year at the Festival de la Canción Ranchera in Patagonia. Local artists perform, singing competitions unfold, and audiences celebrate the region’s rich folk traditions. In 2025, the festival reached Tierra del Fuego, a remote corner of the world, bringing Patagonia’s vibrant culture to viewers near and far.

The festival offered a window into Patagonia’s vibrant cultural life — but streaming live from such a remote location was no small feat. PlayMediaChile partnered with Kiloview, leveraging AV-over-IP solutions to deliver the festival live with stable, high-quality video and easy multi-platform streaming, even under extreme conditions.

Extreme Challenges Under Extreme Remote Conditions

Streaming from one of the world’s most remote locations had to overcome both natural and technical obstacles, forcing the team to rethink signal transport, monitoring, and management. The production faced several challenges:

  • Extreme Weather Threatening Stability: Patagonian winds over 100 km/h and near-freezing temperatures risked equipment stability and operations.
  • Unreliable Connectivity Disrupting Streams: Mobile coverage was limited and networks unstable, making continuous streaming difficult.
  • Complex Workflows for Long-Duration Streaming: Multi-hour streams without simple bonding or centralized monitoring increased management difficulty and risk of interruptions.
  • Bulky Equipment Slowing Setup: Their traditional systems were bulky, energy-intensive, and hard to deploy quickly in remote environments.
  • Simultaneous Local and Remote Distribution Needs: The team needed to monitor the live feed locally, stream to YouTube, and share signals with regional media simultaneously.

With these limitations in place, the team turned to Kiloview for its proven reliability and flexible AV-over-IP ecosystem.

Equipment Used

On-Site Capture & Output: Kiloview P3 Mini Wireless Bonding Encoder

Aggregation & Management: KiloLink Server Pro

Transcoding & Distribution: Kiloview MG300v2 Media Gateway

Production: ATEM 2 Television Studio Pro

Reliable Performance Under Harsh Conditions

With 4 cameras capturing the event on site, all signals had to be switched via the ATEM system and sent seamlessly to the P3 Mini encoder.

  • Supporting up to 5 network bonding channels, the P3 Mini combined 3 SIM cards and Wi-Fi, delivering the live program via SRT for stable transmission in remote environments.
  • Equipped with a built-in battery and anti-interference antennas, it maintained stable performance in near-freezing temperatures, ensuring uninterrupted streaming throughout the event.Streamlining Management & Monitoring with KiloLink Server Pro
As the central hub, KiloLink Server Pro was deployed in the private cloud, with an option to run on-premise to reduce subscription costs. It provided real-time bonding and stream monitoring, giving centralized control throughout the broadcast.Flexible, Modular Design for Faster DeploymentInstead of multiple devices and power sources, the team used the P3 Mini as a single encoder. With wireless design, PD-fast-charging battery, and built-in monitoring, the setup was faster, lighter, and easier to manage in the remote area.Reaching Global Audiences with ConfidenceTo ensure the broadcast reached every viewer, Kiloview’s media gateway MG300v2 delivered the festival feed locally and online. The P3 Mini’s H.265 feed was transcoded to H.264 at 15 Mbps on the MG300v2, ensuring YouTube compatibility while maintaining quality and stability over the limited networks.
  • On-site monitoring was easy via MG300v2’s 3G-SDI and 4K HDMI, while the same feed streamed live online.
  • Supporting up to 9 simultaneous channels, it not only streamed to YouTube seamlessly, but also fed regional media for maximum coverage.

Seamless Live Broadcasting from the Edge of the World

The event was successfully delivered as a stable, multi-hour live broadcast, with one signal feeding YouTube, on-site monitoring, and regional media outlets at the same time. By simplifying workflows and ensuring consistent connectivity, the team completed the high-quality production efficiently and seamlessly under extreme conditions.

“In remote regions like Patagonia, reliability is everything. Kiloview optimized our workflow, shortened setup time, and ensured consistent, reliable performance even in challenging environments. — Joel Estay, CEO, PlayMediaChile

From the edge of the world to audiences everywhere, Kiloview’s integrated AV-over-IP ecosystem proved that when conditions are at their toughest, reliable live broadcasting is still possible—delivering culture, connection, and confidence without compromise.
