Rohde & Schwarz showcases automotive test innovations at CES 2026
At the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Rohde & Schwarz will present a comprehensive portfolio of automotive test and measurement solutions designed to accelerate the development of electric, connected and autonomous vehicles.
At CES 2026, the company will demonstrate how precise measurement technology underpins the automotive industry’s rapid transformation — from electric drivetrain efficiency and high-speed in-vehicle connectivity to radar validation, UWB-based safety systems and satellite-enabled communications.
“The automotive industry is undergoing its most significant transformation in a century,” said Juergen Meyer, Vice President Market Segment Automotive at Rohde & Schwarz. “Every innovation — from electric drivetrains to non-terrestrial networks and next-generation sensors for autonomous driving — depends on precise, reliable testing. At CES 2026, we are showcasing solutions that help bring safer, smarter and more sustainable vehicles to market faster.”
Electric drivetrain testing
Rohde & Schwarz addresses EV efficiency challenges with advanced solutions for inverter and battery management system characterization. These tools provide detailed insights into switching behavior, EMI performance and power efficiency, enabling early fault detection and faster drivetrain optimization for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
OpenGMSL™ compliance testing
To support high-speed sensor, camera and display connectivity, Rohde & Schwarz showcases OpenGMSL™ validation using the R&S RTP oscilloscope. Integrated signal integrity analysis, jitter measurements and eye mask testing ensure robust link performance, supported by vector network analyzers for detailed cable and channel characterization.
Accelerated radar development through simulation
In collaboration with strategic partner fiveD, Rohde & Schwarz highlights hyper-realistic radar simulation using digital twins. This approach allows radar performance to be evaluated within its host environment before hardware prototypes exist, enabling earlier error detection and faster development cycles.
UWB testing for in-cabin safety and digital access
As UWB adoption grows for child presence detection, hands-free access and intrusion sensing, Rohde & Schwarz demonstrates realistic UWB target simulation using the R&S SMW200A signal generator and R&S FSW26 spectrum analyzer.
Non-terrestrial network (NTN) testing
To support always-connected vehicles, Rohde & Schwarz presents NTN test solutions covering chipsets, TCUs, antennas and full vehicle validation. The CMX500 radio communication tester enables comprehensive testing of NR-NTN, NB-NTN and Direct-to-Cell implementations.
eCall and regulatory compliance testing
Rohde & Schwarz supports global emergency call regulations, including mandatory NG eCall in Europe and China’s upcoming AECS GNSS test requirements. A combined test setup using the CMX500 and R&S SMBV100B enables accurate RF and GNSS simulation for standards-compliant validation.
Partner demonstrations at CES 2026
Technology partners will also showcase Rohde & Schwarz solutions on their booths. The OpenGMSL Association will demonstrate debugging and conformance testing using the RTP oscilloscope and ZNB vector network analyzer, while Flex will feature the MXO34 oscilloscope to validate multi-standard in-vehicle network interfaces.
Visitors can meet Rohde & Schwarz at Booth #4567 at CES 2026 in Las Vegas for live demonstrations and expert discussions on future mobility technologies.
