Things have changed a lot since the last Spring NAB Show in Las Vegas in 2019, including Broadcast, Media, and Entertainment technology. This year’s NAB Show is poised to go all the way, bringing us back together as a community.
There will be a lot of new innovations on display at the exposition, sure to be accompanied by lively conversations about how the industry has adapted to world events. 2022 is already shaping up to be a big year for 8K, which is why MainConcept has focused on developing the software and expertise to handle it efficiently.

MainConcept Demos
8K live in the cloud
Get ready to see 8K content (as well as 4K and 720p) in real-time via remote AWS instance, delivering it live, complete with a dashboard visualizing system performance, framerate, and bitrate. This demonstration uses multiple MainConcept technologies, including Live Encoder powered by the industry leading HEVC/H.265 encoder and Hybrid GPU acceleration. All told, this 8K encoder can deliver more live channels or ABR layers per system at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.
Real-life encoding examples
MainConcept has developed a Content Creation Lab to show real-life FFmpeg plugin encoding examples for xHE-AAC, Sony XAVC and Panasonic AVC Ultra, as well as TV Broadcast (a plugin that seamlessly integrates the MainConcept AVC/H.264 Broadcast Encoder and MXF Multiplexer libraries into FFmpeg). Uploading a file into any of these pages will show processing time, the encoded file as well as the console log and command line parameters for the plugin. This demo is especially relevant for those in sports, entertainment (movie & television) and broadcasting.
SARAH COOK
Sarah Cook joined the MainConcept team early in 2021 and brings deep expertise in product marketing, communications, and thought leadership. Sarah has worked for some of the biggest names in technology including Dell and Cisco and holds a B.A. in English Composition with a minor in Music from the University of North Texas. She sings with and serves on the Board of Directors for Panoramic Voices, a 501(c)3 choral collaborative in Austin, TX. When she is not working or singing, you might find her walking, riding her bicycle, or at a Pilates class.
