Broadcast Solutions establishes a Centre of Excellence for nxtedition newsrooms

Fri 20, 09 2024

Bingen, Germany, 16 September 2024: Broadcast Solutions, one of Europe’s largest media systems integration groups, announced today the establishment of a Centre of Excellence dedicated to nxtedition newsroom deployments. This strategic initiative underscores Broadcast Solutions’ commitment to innovation and excellence in delivering cutting-edge newsroom technology to media organisations worldwide.

The new Centre of Excellence will focus on enhancing the deployment, integration, and optimisation of nxtedition newsrooms for both linear broadcasters and digital publishers.

“nxtedition represents a true paradigm shift for news organisations,” said Rainer Kampe, CTO of Broadcast Solutions. “Initially developed as an automation system for live studio productions, nxtedition has evolved into a full-fledged end-to-end news and program production platform. It transcends the conventional separation between Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS) and News Production Systems (NPS) rooted in the MOS era. This innovation enables more agile, efficient workflows, perfectly suited to the demands of modern breaking news coverage.”

“We’re excited to kick off this partnership with Broadcast Solutions,” said Roger Persson, CEO of nxtedition. “Deploying our next-generation newsroom platform at scale requires partners with the resources and the expertise to help our customers implement new workflows that can unleash the productivity gains nxtedition was designed for.”

Based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the nxtedition Centre of Excellence will focus on designing and deploying turnkey solutions for both on-premises and hybrid deployments in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. It will offer comprehensive training programs for media professionals, ensuring they are well-equipped to leverage the full potential of nxtedition capabilities. An integrated support centre will complement the nxtedition hotline based in Malmö, Sweden.
