Aldermaston, UK, 16 October 2024 – At Inter BEE 2024, an exhibition for content professionals, Japan, GB Labs will be showcasing two of its innovative media and production storage solutions, award-winning NebulaNAS production cloud storage and Unify Hub, a global unified file system, in collaboration with ASK Corporation Japan.
NebulaNAS: Production Cloud Storage
GB Labs will be exhibiting on ASK Corporation’ booth 4512, Makuhari Messe and visitors can see NebulaNAS, an award-winning revolutionary cloud storage solution, designed to provide the benefits of on-premise storage but with cloud capabilities.
NebulaNAS is designed to meet the challenges of today’s geographically dispersed production teams, including security, collaboration, performance, ease of use, and access.
Regardless of location, users will appreciate its NAS-like ease of use. Editors and artists can see files immediately, access data quickly, and collaborate globally as if they were in the same location.
Producers will appreciate the detailed analytics and audit reporting that the system maintains. Organisations can even add local storage to provide media acceleration and cache-level support for clusters of users.
IT managers will approve of NebulaNAS’ security and resiliency, including 256-bit AES file encryption, user access controls and distributed use of cloud servers, which spreads data across thousands of servers.
Combining these features allow NebulaNAS to provide the highest level of reliability of any cloud storage solution available without 100% redundancy.
With NebulaNAS:
- Investing in extra switches and bandwidth to deliver top performance is often unnecessary.
- There is no need to copy files onto hard drives.
- There is no need to download and upload an entire file to work on a fraction of it.
- There is no need to unnecessarily duplicate content and archive more than necessary because it’s unclear which files to keep.
NebulaNAS seamlessly integrates with GB Labs’ existing on-prem storage, so users can have hybrid workflows where a cluster of users in a post facility, for example, can use their on-prem GB Labs storage as a large cache while remote users are working off the cloud.
Unify Hub: Global Unified File System for Seamless On-Prem Workflows
GB Labs’ Unify Hub offers media and production businesses with individuals or teams of professionals working at home or in multiple offices, remote access directly from their own workstations to their business’ on-prem storage.
Similar to NebulaNAS, Unify Hub seamlessly integrates with GB Labs’ on-prem storage devices (SPACE, FastNAS and Echo) and used as an accelerator to enable these on-prem devices to be securely accessed remotely, via client software, the GB Connect app. The app can be downloaded from GB Labs’ CORE OS operating system and accesses files directly from end user devices, across a single file system and uses using the exact same file path.
Within a building you can block-level cache high data rate files by adding the GB Connect app to workstations. The external drive of the end-user workstation will determine the performance so for example with in-built NVMe drives, users can expect a lightning-fast experience with speeds of up to 4GB/s.
