GB Labs’ new cloud storage solution and superfast NVMe SPACE servers take the stage at Broadcast Asia

Thu 16, 05 2024

Stand 6H1-4, Singapore EXPO, Broadcast Asia, 29-31 May: GB Labs will be previewing its new cloud storage solution, NebulaNAS, which links an enterprise’s post-production teams together  to facilitate collaborative workflows, at Broadcast Asia. GB Labs will also reveal expansion information on its new superfast NVMe NAS storage options.

GB Labs is sharing the stage with Si-Media, its global technology partner, who has a regional presence in Singapore. The two companies have worked together on many complex media production projects. Each offers best in class solutions, GB Labs high-speed shared storage and SI Media’ intelligent multi-functional MAM, for ingest, editing and delivery of media assets. With a deep understanding of each other’s solutions, they deliver end-to-end workflow solutions and on-going support for their broadcasting clients.

NebulaNAS – a true global cloud storage solution

NebulaNAS is designed to make collaborative remote and hybrid workflows seamless for clients who are on-prem, remote or moving between the two, no matter where they are in the world!

For media and broadcasters with remote users, GB Labs offers a lightweight application, GB Connect, to allow them to work from anywhere on large format files.

For those with an office-based team, NebulaNAS uses hyper-accelerated caching technology providing superfast local read access to data.

It is a truly global storage solution, linking an enterprise’s post-production teams together, with always up-to-date media assets, offering a reliable, robust, and lightning-fast central hub for media data.

SPACE NVMe options

GB Labs superfast NVMe options, SPACE NVMe, a 24-drive server for rackmount facilities, and MiniSPACE NVMe, a lightweight, quiet, desktop option, offering unparalleled speed for heavy professional codecs and super resolution files.

The performance of this technology is well above spinning drives and even SSDs. It’s ideal for editing uncompressed image sequences, with 4 to 5 times the performance of SSD servers for post-production editors, working with any codecs and frame size (4K, 8K and up) to accelerate video sequences.

Ben Pearce, GB Labs co-founder and CBO Asia, commented, “This show offers the best meeting point for South-East Asia and I’m really looking forward to showing our innovative new solutions to the broadcasting and media community. Collaboration is key in this market, however I also expect that our cloud solution will feature strongly in many conversations too.”
