The two CISPR Multimedia EMC standards are being revised, and this will lead in due course to CISPR 32 edition 3 (for emission) and CISPR 35 edition 2 (for immunity). CISPR is the International Special Committee on Radio Interference.
Committee Drafts for vote (CDVs) have been circulated to National standards Committees for vote and comment. This is the penultimate stage before publication; and, theoretically, the last stage at which technical changes can be made.
The significant changes include requirements for equipment with a radio function in both standards. Requirements for Wireless Power Transfer were originally planned to be added to the emission standard, but are not in the CDV. They are still under discussion.
Our contributor, Simon Auty, continues to be a member of the CISPR committees working on these standards and will contribute to the UK’s vote and comments.
