CETEX, the all-new Consumer Electronics Test & Development Forum and Expo, invites test and development engineers to RAI in Amsterdam from October 9 to 10, 2024. At this event, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its advanced test and measurement solutions, addressing the latest challenges in consumer electronics development. Attendees can connect with the company’s experts and explore cutting-edge technologies that enhance EMC compliance, debug digital protocols faster, or improve the energy efficiency of their products.
Caption: Highlights at the CETEX: the MXO 5 and MXO 5C series oscilloscopes.
Consumer electronics consist of numerous components, each requiring testing during the development phase, when compiling the datasheet, or during certification. Rohde & Schwarz covers the entire testing chain with solutions for EMC/EMI, energy efficiency (switch mode analysis), connectivity and IoT (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB4, etc.), and electrical circuitry tests (digital buses). Visitors to CETEX can experience selected T&M instruments from Rohde & Schwarz that cater to the needs of consumer electronics engineers.
Next-generation Oscilloscopes
The next-generation MXO 5 and MXO 5C series oscilloscopes, with unmatched versatility, deliver superior time and frequency measurements for consumer electronics test and development engineers. Rohde & Schwarz will present both at CETEX: the four- or eight-channel MXO 5 series and the rack-mounted MXO 5C series (without a display). With the integrated MXO-EP ASICs developed by Rohde & Schwarz, these oscilloscopes offer the industry’s fastest acquisition rate with 4.5 million waveforms/s, 12-bit ADC/18-bit HD resolution, a deep memory capture with 500 million points/channel, and highest sensitivity with advanced digital trigger. These features make power and signal integrity measurements and logic and bus protocol debugging more efficient.
Power Conversion and Consumption Measurements
At CETEX, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate power conversion and consumption measurements. When optimizing system performance and characterizing gate driver signals, especially in multiphase, the MXO 5 provides eight channels for a direct view of all signal details, allowing engineers to make accurate inverter design measurements. For power consumption testing of battery-operated devices, such as IoT equipment with very low sleep currents, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase the R&S NGU201 source measure unit, enabling engineers to simulate real-world battery characteristics.
EMC Pre-compliance and In-house Testing
Electronic devices are vulnerable to conducted or radiated electromagnetic emissions. Rohde & Schwarz offers tailored solutions for EMI debugging and in-house EMC pre-compliance testing, integrating them into the product design process. Learn how to use the R&S RTO6 oscilloscope for EMI debugging or the R&S EPL1000 EMI test receiver for in-house testing.
Component Testing
Rohde & Schwarz will display its R&S LCX LCR meters, featuring customized impedance measurement functions for all discrete passive components up to 10 MHz. Using the R&S LCX sweep software, engineers can perform sweep measurements with numerous charts. The MFIA impedance analyzer from Zurich Instruments AG (a subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz since 2021) will also be on display, offering impedance analysis for both low and high impedance components.
Wireless Connectivity and Bluetooth Testing
Bluetooth® is a key technology for short-range, low-power wireless communications in consumer electronics, from earphones to smart home applications. With the CMW platform, Rohde & Schwarz provides a comprehensive, fully automated test solution for Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) and Bluetooth® Classic. The R&S CMW270 wireless connectivity tester will be featured at CETEX, supporting WLAN 11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax SISO and MIMO signaling tests.
Visitors can find Rohde & Schwarz at booth 207, Elicium Hall 13, at the CETEX Forum and Expo. Additionally, Rohde & Schwarz will present on advanced test and measurement techniques for emerging challenges in consumer electronics on October 10, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
