SEEDER Won the Bid for the Hubei Radio and Television Integrated Media News Studio Cluster Project

Thu 11, 01 2024

In recent days, SEEDER has once again achieved a remarkable success by successfully winning the bid for the Hubei Radio and Television Media Base Integrated Media News Studio Cluster Project. SEEDER will provide a large number of intelligent camera support products for the audiovisual system of this project, aiming to create the first intelligent studio cluster in China.

Project Background

The Hubei Radio and Television Media Base is located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone of Wuhan, the first national-level radio and television media base approved by the State Administration of Radio and Television in the central region. Situated in the core area of Guanggu, it covers a vast area, boasting magnificent architectural scale and unique design style. Its technological level, research and development capabilities, production processes, and production capacity rank at the forefront of the provincial radio and television industry nationwide.

The Integrated Media News Studio Cluster is a core project in the construction of the base, responsible for the production of important current affairs programs such as “Hubei News”, “10′ Hubei News,” and “Yangtze River News” in Hubei Media Group. It is located on the fourth and fifth floors of the podium building and consists of three broadcasting areas: political news broadcasting, open broadcasting, and virtual broadcasting. It includes three flexible spaces: imagination space, innovation space, and shadowless tent, as well as functional rooms such as a dubbing room and screening room, meeting the needs of the entire process of news program production.

Project Overview

SEEDER will provide comprehensive intelligent products for this project, including the SEEDER studio automation system, robotic camera systems, news IP prompter systems, virtual head tracking systems, two-stage pedestals, and other equipment. These will ensure that the cluster system can simultaneously support multiple live broadcasts and recordings, with functions such as virtual production, new media production and release, and broadcasting, meeting various types of program production requirements.

01

Studio Automation System

The SEEDER SEEART 2.0 Studio Automation System consists of a set of automated equipment control system (control flow) and a set of studio content management system (content flow, template flow). Using program templates, effective automated control of devices is achieved based on the program rundown. The super director interface allows full automation of the studio production workflow through a simple press of the space bar, allowing one person to complete recording or quasi-live broadcasting, and two people to complete new media live production.

The automated equipment control system includes equipment control and monitoring and early warning. Equipment control can precisely control the operation of all broadcasting room production equipment, such as switchers, audio mixers, video recorders, audio playback, live streaming, robotic cameras, audio and video matrices, lighting consoles, video servers, CG graphics, VR/AR graphics, video wall graphics, peripheral equipment, multiviewers, etc. Monitoring and early warning use network protocols to monitor the working status of authorized devices in real time and present them graphically.

The studio content management system contains modules for external newsroom system integration, a newsroom system, automated rundown generation integrating content, templates and device control, intelligent rundown modification, automated prompting, etc.

The system supports the entire process of 4K HDR, HD SDR live broadcasting, and recording, meeting the requirements of news, program interviews, new media releases, virtual production, and other program production needs. The system construction fully considers keeping in sync with international advanced design concepts, adopts an open system architecture, has certain scalability to adapt to program production and live broadcast requirements, ensuring that the newly built system is technologically advanced, flexible and open, practical and efficient, safe and reliable, and easy to use.

Technical Highlights:

1. Real-time production of the entire video process.

2. Automatic content integration with program templates for the generation of rundowns.

3. Real-time modification of rundowns, graphics, and teleprompter content from the NRCS.

4. Control over all devices in the studio connected to the system.

5. AR/VR use without calibration, can control each layer of UE5.

6. High-security distributed networked prompter system, automatic broadcasting control.

7. Quick audio control panel, fast remote control.

8. Automated clock system, comprehensive control of broadcasting control information.

9. Solve the complex linkage of multiple people and devices, allowing one person to complete complex production.

02

Robotic Camera Systems

The SEEDER robotic camera systems used in this project includes robotic telescopic cranes, robotic cranes, robotic elevating pan/tilt heads, and robotic heads.

Robotic Telescopic Crane

RB25TS

SEEDER’s robotic telescopic crane can automatically adjust its length according to the actual usage environment, constructing flexible and changeable shooting angles to meet the complex program production needs of the open broadcasting area.

Robotic Crane

RB30CR3

SEEDER’s robotic crane has features such as start-stop anti-shake, automatic anti-collision, RS422 and network oriented UDP simultaneous output, and can meet the needs of automated operation and shooting in three broadcasting areas: political news broadcasting area, open broadcasting area, and virtual broadcasting area.

Virtual Head Tracking

S30VR

SEEDER’s virtual head tracking uses 23 bit (8300000/360 °) absolute value tracking data, with RS422 and Ethernet oriented UDP dual output simultaneously.

Two Stage Pedestal

S30PT500

The SEEDER two-stage pedestal is the first in China, with an on-shot stroke greater than 700mm and a working height of 1100mm to 1800mm, which can meet the shooting needs of different studio heights.

New Mileage, New Expectations

At present, SEEDER is making every effort to deliver the project and ensure that it is put into use in the spring of 2024. In the new year, SEEDER will wholeheartedly deliver a satisfactory answer sheet for user of the Hubei Radio and Television Integrated Media News Broadcast Cluster Project. We hope that the smooth operation of SEEDER’s intelligent systems will bring our user a more excellent production experience.
