London, 5 March 2026 – Leading video software provider Synamedia today announced it has partnered with Swiss sports technology specialist, Asport to deliver global live streaming for the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi, a hybrid ‘phygital’ sports event combining physical competitions, eSports, and digital games featuring 850 athletes from 60 countries, held in December 2025. To support the live distribution, Asport deployed the Synamedia Quortex SaaS platform, using Quortex Link for the distribution of video streams to multiple platforms and endpoints including YouTube and Twitch and Quortex Play for the video streaming to viewers.
Asport selected Quortex for its self-service, API-driven capabilities, and its configurable workflows enabling simultaneous efficient streaming to viewers and B2B distribution to rights holders. Using the Quortex platform provided Asport with the scalability and centralised control required to handle diverse formats and platforms which included the support of frame-rate adaptation, content normalisation, its patented just-in-time processing technology, and the handling of complex mobile and eSports-style production workflows. It also provided secure, reliable distribution, without requiring complex, always-on infrastructure thanks to a flexible, pay-as-you-use model.
Over the course of the 10-day event, Synamedia’s Quortex cloud-based streaming platform supported up to 11 simultaneous disciplines per day, handled 33 concurrent ingest streams, and distributed content in 13 languages. In total, Asport managed more than 200 live streams on the official platform tv.gofuture.games as well as to YouTube, Twitch, media partners and independent content creators, allowing audiences around the world to follow the action in real time.
Rainer Roesslhuber, CEO of SportPass Medien GmbH, said, “As a truly global event, the Games of the Future brought together competitors and audiences from around the world. We needed a streaming platform that could scale internationally, adapt quickly to diverse technical requirements, and support multiple platforms. Synamedia Quortex gave us the flexibility and reach to meet our ambitions, even with an extremely limited window of just days for testing. This successful collaboration with Synamedia has created a strong foundation for us to partner together on new and innovative projects in sports streaming technology.”
Edward Allfrey, EVP and General Manager of Video Network, Synamedia, added, “Working with Asport on Games of the Future demonstrates how our Quortex platform can support events of all sizes and types. Building on our experience with some of the world’s largest sports leagues, Quortex provides scalable, cloud-based live streaming and distribution for complex yet niche innovative events as well as top-tier international tournaments. We very much look forward to continuing our collaboration with Asport on future live streaming projects.”
