Edge Computing for media. Making sense of cloud services
Edge Computing means that media and data are physically located closer to the users who connect to it and use it. Content can be worked on quickly, securely and without latency. Workflows using local machinery such as quality control, edits, transcoders, etc. are still local, but connect seamlessly into workflows and access operated via the cloud, for example multi-point sharing, collaboration, distribution, or delivery workflows. Edge thus means "working simultaneously on the edge of the cloud + in the cloud".
