The Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) specification was created by the Video Services Forum to promote interoperability for low-latency, high-quality video contribution over the Internet. This is a technical presentation on RIST Main Profile, VSF TR-06-2, released in March 2020. Besides reliable stream delivery, RIST Main Profile includes features such as tunneling, support for in-band control, encryption, authentication, and bandwidth optimization.
This presentation shows you ways to leverage the equipment you have today to build enough flexibility so that you can produce, switch, and diagnose remotely. The presentation will also cover the options for moving video around the Internet, both for monitoring in consumer devices (protocols such as RTMP and HLS) and for low-latency, high-quality contribution (protocols such as the Reliable Internet Stream Transport – RIST).
