Register here for Q&A panel: BLAST TV teams up with EVS for complete esports production environment
Tuesday 1 December (15.35 GMT)

In this Q&A session, Lasse Brogård Kempf, Director of Technology explains why BLAST TV ,the global esports media network delivering world class entertainment experiences, has selected EVS’ market-leading VIA-based technology as the backbone of its new esports production fly pack.

The mobile solution is designed so that BLAST TV can produce its own live gaming events in-house. With the Covid-19 lockdown impacting mass gatherings, the flexibility of the live production workflow is enabling the esports giant to address this issue by delivering online-only events.

Powering coverage of all BLAST TV Premier tournaments’ live-action is EVS’ VIA suite of technologies, including its XT-VIA and XS-VIA production servers, designed to meet the most demanding live broadcast requirements. The XT-VIA servers will deliver the power required for BLAST TV to record and produce live replays and highlights from the players and observers, while the XS-VIA servers provide ingest and delayed playout of the TX feeds for betting requirements. The turnkey XT-VIA solution includes 36 Full HD 1080p channels recording all the player feeds and in-game action. EVS’ next-generation IP media sharing network XNet-VIA is at the heart of the system, enabling faster, more efficient live media sharing and storytelling by all client users. Overseeing this infrastructure is EVS’ highly advanced broadcast control and monitoring system, CerebrumCurious? Watch the session!

Thursday 3 December (16.10 GMT)

With Jeff Rosica CEO Avid, Timothy Shoulders President GV and EVS’s CEO Serge van Herck.

In this panel discussion will feature a panel examining suppliers’ transition to as-a-service models. The expedited move to remote working caused by the pandemic has forced technology suppliers in the media industry to accelerate their transition from large and infrequent monetary inflows to smaller and more continuous cash streams. At the same time, the pandemic has also forced suppliers to prop up virtual and continuous engagement with their customers due to the absence of trade shows. What are the major implications of this for technology providers in the media industry? How do you plan, develop and price the new as-a-service offerings? How do you forecast revenue streams in a time of unprecedented change? We will try to answer these questions with a panel of leaders at major technology suppliers in our industry who will explore the challenges and benefits of as-a-service models, and how to make it work.
