But that's not the limit of the features offered by the DNS 8 Live. Recognising that many people will want to use it where there's no ready access to mains power, we have added a standard 4-pin 12VDC input.
The DNS 8 Live also offers fail-safe audio bypass implemented in the form of hardware relays that immediately connect the inputs to the outputs in the event of a power failure or other significant disruption. This means that the DNS 8 Live can now be installed with confidence in critical paths within the broadcast chain.
We have anticipated the needs of users who will want to control the DNS 8 Live using modern methods such as laptops, iPads and many other (perhaps as yet unseen) devices, so we gave it the ability to respond to a simple, web-based remote control interface. With its bundled DNS 8 RC software, the DNS 8 Live will work with almost any web browser.
The DNS 8 Live has now been superseded by the DNS 8D with Dante®.

AVN-CU4-DANTE Commentator Unit, 4 Commentators
It is a dual version of the AVN-CU2-DANTE providing four mic/line inputs with a wide, adjustable gain range and four stereo headphone outputs with lockable jack sockets, suitable for operation by three or four commentators.
The feature set is as per the AVN-CU2-DANTE, with the following differences. There are:4 x On-air buttons.4 x Page buttons, 2 for each half of the display.4 x Cough buttons.8 x Talkback buttons, up to 4 for each user and3 x User buttons.
As for the AVN-CU2-DANTE, the illuminated ‘Sonifex’ logo acts as a power indication and illuminated LEDs indicate network clock status, AoIP Primary and AoIP Secondary link status, PoE Primary, PoE Secondary and AC power active.
The front panel houses 4 x locking mic/line inputs with +48V phantom power indication and 4 x headphone outputs on locking 6.35mm jack sockets.
There’s an abundance of 4 wire connections on the rear panel: 4 x analogue line inputs on XLR sockets with latching locks, 6 x analogue line outputs on XLR plugs and an RJ45 AES3 stereo input & output.
The unit has dual redundant network ports on both RJ45 (PoE+ using 2 x Neutrik EtherCON® connectors) and SFP cages. There is an AC mains input on an IEC inlet, with a universal supply.
The 10 configurable GPIO and single switched changeover output use a 15 way D-type connector.

ProStream X features include:
High-Throughput Processing
The ProStream X stream processor offers the choice of quad 1-GbE, dual 10-GbE or ASI I/O. The high-throughput 10-GbE option supports up to 2,000 simultaneous multiplexing and scrambling services. Gateway capabilities include socket address flipping, ASI-to-IP conversion and IP mirroring.
Scrambling
ProStream X is the industry’s first stream processor to support 128-bit DVB CSA3 encryption, integrated and certified by Cisco and Irdeto, making it the most secure stream processing solution for distributing UHD broadcast services. DVB CSA2, IPTV AES and BISS scrambling are also supported.
Statistical Multiplexing
Harmonic’s DiviTrackIP™ option integrates statistical multiplexing and IP switching by connecting ProStream X systems with remote Harmonic Electra X2 encoders across a LAN or WAN, allowing any ProStream X in the network to efficiently manage the encoders’ statmux pools.
Splicing
ProStream X processor supports both live-to-live splicing, which allows to switch between main and alternative live feeds seamlessly, with no ETR 290 errors at output.
“Pay As You Grow” Scalability
As processing needs evolve, the software-based ProStream X platform makes it easy to incrementally add or upgrade I/O modules and firmware licenses, simplifying scalability and extending the system’s value.
