TVU MLink

TVU MLink incorporates TVU’s proven, award-winning, and advanced IP cellular video transmission technology into a rack-mount unit. Designed for use in satellite and microwave vehicles and studios, MLink uses the H.265 compression standard together with TVU’s proprietary Inverse StatMux Plus transmission algorithm for reliable video transmission that requires less data and overhead with lower operating cost. MLink is capable of aggregating the transmission signals from multiple transmission mediums simultaneously, including cellular, satellite, microwave, WiFi and Ethernet.

When using MLink that’s integrated into a satellite or microwave truck or van, there is no need to stop a live video feed when switching from cellular to satellite or microwave transmission and vice versa. MLink also gives you the flexibility to transmit solely over cellular while driving and then seamlessly switch or add satellite or microwave at your destination without needing to interrupt the transmission to deploy the mast.

TVU MLink is available in a model that supports 4K transmission.

TVU One

TVU’s 6th generation mobile IP video transmitter is a breakthrough in size and performance. TVU One with HEVC cellular mobile solution uses both HEVC video compression and TVU’s patented Inverse StatMux Plus (IS+) transmission algorithm to transmit HD quality video at 3Mbps with half-second latency. By utilizing the H.265 compression standard, TVU One uses less data and generates less overhead leading to lower operational costs while delivering even greater transmission reliability. TVU One with HEVC is available with embedded modems and can transmit simultaneously over multiple connections, including cellular, microwave, satellite, BGAN, WiFi, and Ethernet.

Key Features and Benefits of TVU One with HEVC:

Software-based HEVC encoder – An optimized encoder for mobile transmission environment. Significant improvement than off-shelf hardware encoder, which often are designed for different applications.

Fast Starting – Boots in less than 20 seconds from cold start with one button operation

Half-second Latency – Reliable transmission at half-second latency even in fast moving vehicles

Dual Encoding – Creates an exact recorded copy of the source video from the camera to the TVU One’s on-board SSD. The pristine recording is at a much higher bit-rate than that of any live transmission bit-rate and can be accessed at any time as a back-up recording.

Frequency converters

Agile, block and fixed frequency types available in numerous formats including indoor rack-mount, outdoor weatherproof and modular ‘expandable’ solutions, with or without redundancy switching. Supported by a host of standard features and comprehensive configuration options, the Peak range of products are suitable for all professional satellite communications applications.

AGILE CONVERTERS for baseband ‘IF’ 70/140MHz to/from L-Band or the transmit/receive bands (S, C, X, Ku, DBS & Ka), including an L-Band interface. Typically the signal useable bandwidth is stated as ±18MHz or ±36MHz, to match standard satellite transponder bandwidths. Peak agile converters use a fully synthesised topology allowing the frequency to be set to 1Hz, so are suitable for all general frequency conversion as well as more critical Geolocation applications. All agile converters from Peak include an L-Band interface that provides flexibility in use, especially for sites with mixed IF/L-Band infrastructure.

BLOCK CONVERTERS for L-Band to/from the transmit/ receive bands (C, X, Ku, DBS & Ka). Peak high grade block converters offer a high RF performance for professional applications and are designed to be fully compatible with a wide range of L-Band modems and frequency converters. All utilise externally phase locked dielectric resonator oscillators (XPDROs) and are far superior in stability and phase noise to voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), as commonly used in other BUC designs. Units have a highly stable internal reference signal and automatically detect and lock to an external 10MHz reference signal, when applied.

FIXED FREQUENCY CONVERTERS offer a cost effective conversion between baseband ‘IF’ 70/140MHz and a fixed L-Band 1200MHz (other L-Band frequencies can be provided). Typically the signal useable bandwidth is stated as ±18MHz or ±36MHz, to match standard satellite transponder bandwidths.
The units amongst other applications can be used to interface L-Band modems with 70/140MHz transceivers or 70/140MHz modems to L-band transceivers in legacy system upgrades.

MAGIC DABMUX Go RF Ensemble Multiplexer

MAGIC DABMUX Go RF is the smallest and only DSP-based Ensemble Multiplexers worldwide, thus providing high availability at an excellent performance. With MAGIC DABMUX Go RF RM there is also 19“ versions that can be mounted in a rack.

Up to 20 program providers can be connected via external Audio Encoders. An installation of the Encoders directly in the studio avoids effectively an interference in Audio quality because of Codec cascading.

Special value was set on the easy configuration of the Ensemble Multiplexer via web browser, so that even users without DAB expert knowledge are able to set up the system.

The highly compact DAB Ensemble Multiplexers facilitate a very simple Multiplex generation in accordance with standard ETSI EN 300 401. Despite its size, all features such as re-configuration (manually and scheduled), extraction of Sub Channels of other Multiplexers, integration of PAD and NPAD data services, creation of Service Information etc. are integrated.
Audio Services can be supplied via the AVTMUX or the EDI(ETI) protocol from external Multiplexers.
As output signal both Multiplexer variants supply an EDI signal for transmission to the transmitters.
With the RF version, which has an integrated modulator, you can alternatively activate a power amplifier directly. This possibility is particularly of interest if you have only one transmitter site.
The synchronisation is effected via NTP or in case of the RF version via the integrated GPS receiver.
The RF input is intended for future applications.

The configuration, operation and monitoring are effected via a HTML5-compatible web browser.
An external alarm can also be triggered via SNMP.
The system has a GBit Ethernet network interface, which allows the configuration of up to three IP addresses as well as VLANs.

MAGIC AE1 DAB+ Go Audio Encoder

The high quality and professional DSP-based hardware audio encoder MAGIC AE1 DAB+ Go is realized as a fanless ½ x 19‘‘ device and offers excellent audio quality thanks to the licenced Fraunhofer DAB+ algorithm.

The supplied Windows software allows the configuration of up to 40 systems.

Both analog and digital audio interfaces are available for the input of the audio signal.
In addition to the usual PAD feed via the multiplexer – which supports all standardized services – the PAD services Dynamic Label via FTP or UECP and Slideshow via FTP can also be fed in locally on the device.

In addition, a traffic announcement (TA) can be triggered very easily via UECP or a GPI contact.

Finally, the Audio Encoder allows direct transmission of the program type (PTy) like Rock, Pop etc. via UECP.

The transmission is monitored via the supplied Windows PC software or SNMP. Alternatively, an alarm can also be output via a GPO contact.
Up to three IP addresses can be assigned to the integrated network interface, so that a network separation for different applications is possible. The system also supports VLANs.

Communication between multiplexer and encoder is carried out via the AVTMUX protocol, which enables the control, monitoring and PAD transmission of the encoders from the multiplexer and guarantees secure transmission via Secure Streaming.
With this method, which has also proved its worth in the field of classical audio transmission, all IP packets are transmitted twice – with a delay. Due to the low bit rates with DAB+, the necessary doubling of the data rate is negligible. In addition, different routes can be implemented in the transmission path by using suitable addressing.

At the multiplexer (MAGIC DABMUX Go and MAGIC DABMUX Plus) all IP packets are reassembled correctly in time and duplicate received packets are rejected.
The system can also be used directly with the Open Source Multiplexer ODR DabMux. The necessary interface adaptations are available free of charge on the GitHub platform.

LiveMedia Server is the first multichannel HD video broadcasting and recording server, using the NewTek NDI® protocol. The system supports the largest range of audio and video codecs on the market, both in Standard and High Definition with built-in up/down conversion and aspect ratio adjustment per clip. The function “Play While Rec” of LiveMedia Server is easy to manage. Users can add a file to any playout channel while this file is still being recorded. It now supports NewTek Advanced Edition, the new TriCaster TC1 and NewTek IP Series and allows to control audio mixer from a MIDI external console.
LiveMedia Server is now available as an NDI software in 2-channel version for the price of 1-channel software.
It can be installed on any PC with Windows connected to the Ethernet network and can provide up to 2 media playing or recording channels per PC. The LiveMedia Server NDI application enables you to create and broadcast multi-codec clip playlists from a PC on the local network, without a dedicated peripheral. The integrated playlist editor supports most of the market’s files and codecs: MPEG PS/TS, MP4, QUICKTIME, Apple ProRes®, DNxHD®, DVCPRO HD, XDCAM, MXF, GXF, DV, FLV and many others in the same broadcast list. LiveMedia Server NDI reads the playlist in real time, without prior transcoding, in an NDI stream available on the entire network, without latency. The schedule recording feature allows to schedule start and stop recording by date and time. Multiple scheduling can be prepared in advance. Recursive scheduling is also supported. Playlist scheduler allows to schedule the display of any saved playlist by date and time. The playout channel will then load and play automatically the scheduled playlists.
The latest version of LiveMedia Server NDI allows to add 1 overlay to display a logo or a clock. This overlay page can be created and edited with LiveCG Composer without additional hardware and on NDI flow. LiveCG Composer is now available on www.3dstorm.com
