M-PIP picture-in-picture device
The M-PIP has been designed for IP or SDI playout applications that need one or two picture-in-picture boxes to be inset on the main programme or a coloured background.
Picture-in-picture functionality has previously only been available as part of some production mixers, channel-in-a-box systems and master control mixers. As a dedicated double box generator, the M-PIP therefore provides a cost-effective solution for those who only require picture-in-picture functionality, while it can also be used to add extra capability to a standard playout or studio system.
Up to two boxes can be inset on the programme or matte background when required, either by selecting the required foreground flow source or by using preset recall. Controls are available to independently size and position the two boxes on the screen, as well as to manipulate the size and position of the images inside those boxes. A coloured border, as well as edge softness, can be applied to each box if required. The boxes can be faded up and down, while the background can be faded out to black. The M-PIP provides 16 presets which can be used to create and store different looks for the boxes and then be recalled by using Crystal Vision's ASCII or JSON protocols in conjunction with the broadcaster's own control system, or alternatively by using the company's VisionWeb control software.

How much video delay do you need?
Providing up to 800 frames of video delay, Crystal Vision's four variable video delay lines are ideal for matching any short or long delays in your IP or SDI system.
These video delays can be used with IP (ST 2022 and ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time for hybrid systems. This gives you the easiest possible SDI to IP upgrade, while also making them perfect for mixed SDI and IP installations as well as fully IP or fully SDI environments. They work with 31 different SDI video standards, including 1080p.
All include a framestore synchroniser and support PTP in addition to analogue references as a timing source.
The delay is adjustable in steps of frames. The amount of delay available in seconds depends on the video format.
The triple channel M-VIVID100-3 provides up to 100 frames of video delay per channel (four seconds in 1080i50).
The dual channel M-VIVID200-2 provides up to 200 frames of video delay per channel (eight seconds in 1080i50).
The dual channel M-VIVID400-2 offers up to 400 frames of video delay per channel (16 seconds in 1080i50).

The M-WEBKEY IP/SDI web page keyer provides a cost-effective alternative to a full graphics system. It's ideal for channel branding as well as providing news, weather, advert and emergency information overlays for both IP and SDI infrastructures.
The M-WEBKEY is unique because it can key a web page on to a video input. With traditional keying, the external key and fill have to be created and output as video which requires expensive dedicated character generator hardware, whereas keying a web page means that the key and fill source never become video.
The M-WEBKEY allows Flow 1 or a matte to be set as the background source, with the overlaid foreground source and key signal (which defines the graphic's location and transparency) coming from the URL that is entered. The M-WEBKEY plus a web designer and web server could provide all the graphics for a channel.

M-COCO-2 colour corrector and legaliser
The M-COCO-2 colour corrector and legaliser is ideal for manipulating colours to correct for camera or lighting problems or to standardise pictures shot at different times.
The dual channel M-COCO-2 can be used with IP (ST 2022 and ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time for hybrid systems. This gives you the easiest possible SDI to IP upgrade, while also making it perfect for mixed SDI and IP installations as well as fully IP or fully SDI environments. It works with 31 different video standards, including 1080p.
The M-COCO-2's colour correction tools include RGB gain, RGB lift, YUV gain, YUV lift, Video gain, Chroma gain, Chroma hue and both overall and individual RGB Gamma adjustment - as well as Black Stretch and Highlight Stretch, which are particularly useful for correcting in shot picture monitors. The excellent legaliser uses RGB and Y/C clipping to create a legal and natural-looking picture.
Features making life easier include the ability to wipe horizontally or vertically between the processed and unprocessed signal for a ‘before’ and ‘after’ comparison and the ability to highlight pixels containing illegal signal values to help locate the problem. The inclusion of a built-in test pattern generator also makes for an easier workflow.
The M-COCO-2 is a software app that runs on the MARBLE-V1 media processor. A card that fits in the Vision 3 frame, MARBLE-V1 features a powerful CPU/GPU processor, six bi-directional SDI connections and four 10GbE SFP+ network interface ports and allows different apps to be installed when needs change.
