Edit Bridge is successfully used worldwide in production companies, broadcasters and post houses to integrate non Avid editors and artists with an Avid Interplay environment.

The next generation of edit bridge brings all the power and capability of the existing product in a ‘scale-out’ version, enabling the attachment of many more non Avid concurrent and non-concurrent editors.

Marquis EDIT BRIDGE enables the seamless integration of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects CC in an Avid Interplay environment. It includes two Custom Panels for Premiere Pro which allow you to control the workflow directly from the Premiere Pro user interface.

IMPORT FROM INTERPLAY
The import panel allows Premiere Pro users to browse the contents of Avid Interplay and select items for use in Premiere Pro. Having selected the media, Edit Bridge will then deliver it to Premiere Pro in one of two ways depending upon the codec. Depending upon the codec and settings Edit Bridge will either deliver the media by reference so that it can be instantly ‘edited in place’ in Premiere Pro, or it will be transferred to a network location and re-wrapped on the fly to a wrapper appropriate for Premiere Pro.

INTERPLAY BROWSE AND INGEST PANEL FOR PREMIERE PRO OR AFTER EFFECTS
The Marquis Interplay Browse and Ingest panel for Premiere Pro and After Effects allows Adobe users to browse the content of an Avid Interplay system and select content that they want to use in Premiere Pro.

The Marquis panel then allows the user to either:

EDIT IN PLACE: Import the content within Premiere Pro without transferring any content. The imported content is purely a reference to the original Avid content on the ISIS storage.
TRANSFER AND RE-WRAP: Transfer the content from the Avid ISIS and convert the content to MXF Op1a for use in Premiere Pro.

EXPORT TO INTERPLAY
Marquis have built on its many years of experience in edit system integration solutions to develop a custom panel for Premiere Pro CC that will allow users to export content and metadata from Premiere Pro and into Avid Interplay PAM.

This panel will allow the Premiere Pro CC user to:
• Export content from Premiere from the panel and monitor progress
• Create Content in Interplay
• Create MXF OpAtoms on ISIS
• “Check-In” Clip metadata to Interplay PAM

Fotonflite™ enables a high performance, secure ‘on-the-fly’, point to point transfer of Avid Media Composer projects and media workspaces between source Avid ISIS / NEXIS and a broad range of target storage types, including Avid, generic and proprietary storage. Fotonflite has been developed in response to two different customer requirements:

·        A studio that needed to securely sync Avid NEXIS between US and UK

·        A post house who wanted to securely protect and manage remote freelance Media Composer projects on Tier 2 storage.

Existing transfer technologies were deemed insecure as they required data ‘at rest’ outside of the connected servers. Fotonflite solves this problem by deploying an always ‘in-flight’ encrypted point to point connection.

Using unique ISIS / NEXIS analytics, Fotonflite also transfers the project and media changes as ‘delta transfers’. This intelligence transforms the speed and efficiency of subsequent updates or backups. In some scenarios, reducing network payload by 90%.

Fotonflite is an option within Marquis Workspace Sync, Workspace Backup and Project Parking. Worx4 X takes an FCP X XML that contains one or more Projects. It works through the XML finding all the media references, adds handles, joins any overlapping references and then copies just the used portions to a new directory.

Finally it writes the XML back out, into the same directory, but having adjusted the media references to point to the new media, and all the start times of the references to reflect the new trimmed lengths of the media.

Correlation views

The Correlation Matrix displays colour-coded phase relationships between every channel, with a larger arched meter for more detailed analysis, and anti-correlation alerts at a user-defined threshold.

The Correlation Web shows a network of channels with an interconnecting line between each pair. When the phase relationship between two channels becomes anti-correlated, the corresponding line lights up.

Both of these views use Contextual Correlation by default. Standard calculations used by other correlation meters are normalised in such a way that two signals might appear to be highly anti-correlated, even if one signal is so much louder or quieter than the other that mixing them together will not cause phase cancellation. Haze views

With low frequencies at the centre and high frequencies on the outer edge, the circular Frequency Haze displays frequency content across the surround field, with channel labels in typical speaker positions.

The Location Haze provides a visualization of the perceived location of your audio, showing energy distribution across the surround field, with brighter sections indicating increased “energy”.

Other views

In ‘Combined’ mode, the Spectrum view displays an FFT level-against-frequency graph for all the channels in one spectrum. In ‘Groups’ mode, channels can be organised into groups of spectrums.

The True Peak view provides a True Peak dB level meter for each channel.

The Timecode view displays a timecode readout based on the current host/DAW playback position.

Halo also includes a powerful spatial analysis view, intuitively showing the energy distribution of the upmixed panorama. Colour can additionally be used to indicate the speaker source for audio in any position, clearly indicating cases including phantom vs hard centre predominance.

Downmix compatibility

Because Halo Upmix generates a coherent spatial sound, you can be assured of a high-quality downmix. The 'exact' mode function ensures ultimate downmix performance in situations where maintaining the relationship between the original, upmixed and downmixed versions is imperative, for example in TV repurposing.

3D Immersive Extension

Expert surround-to-stereo

Using standard downmix coefficients can sometimes lead to unsatisfactory results, particularly if legacy upmixing practices were used for the original surround mix. Halo Downmix quickly mitigates these issues and produces a more coherent stereo mix, controlling excessive diffuse sound from artificial reverb, and removing delay artefacts from the rear channels.

Fine-tune surround-to-surround

Adjust existing 5.1 or 7.1 mixes in surround-to-surround mode. Individual channels, and the balance between direct/diffuse sound can be adjusted to fine-tune or re-balance surround audio where access to the original mix is not possible.

3D Immersive Extension

The 3D Immersive Extension option for Halo Downmix adds the ability to downmix from 7.1.2 - the format used for Dolby Atmos bed tracks.

Parallel workflows

The DNS 8 Live is the first dialogue noise suppressor designed specifically for live use. With eight simultaneous channels of dialogue noise suppression (formatted as AES3 on XLR sockets plus DB25 using the AES59 pin-out) it hosts a new DNS algorithm boasting a simplified '2-knob' approach as well as a detailed editing mode that offers more control than any previous dialogue noise suppressor. Nonetheless, it retains the near-zero latency of all its predecessors, making it suitable for use in all live situations - not just live-to-air broadcasting, but also live sound in venues such as theatres, concert halls, conferences venues, and places of worship.

But that's not the limit of the features offered by the DNS 8 Live. Recognising that many people will want to use it where there's no ready access to mains power, we have added a standard 4-pin 12VDC input.

The DNS 8 Live also offers fail-safe audio bypass implemented in the form of hardware relays that immediately connect the inputs to the outputs in the event of a power failure or other significant disruption. This means that the DNS 8 Live can now be installed with confidence in critical paths within the broadcast chain.
