MAGIC ACip3 Audio Codec

MAGIC ACip3 is designed as 19” system with integrated wide area power supply and provides optionally an external redundant power supply. Three Ethernet interfaces are available which can be used for Audio over IP transmissions, to control the system with the Windows PC software or to integrate it into a network management system via SNMP. The Audio programmes can – flexibly and freely assignable – be fed in or given out, respectively, via an analogue and two digital stereo interfaces.

The system supports the G.711, G.722, ISO/MPEG Layer 2, Opus coding algorithms and PCM 16/20/24 Bit in the standard delivery version. Optionally, the Audio Codecs can be upgraded with Enhanced apt-X 16/24 Bit, AAC-LD/AAC-ELD and AAC-LC+V1/V2.
One stereo programme is encoded in the standard version, optionally the system can be upgraded to a second stereo programme by software activation.

Two operating modes are available for the pure IP version: the system can be used for dial-up AoIP connections or IP Leased Line connections. In AoIP mode, the system can register at 5 different SIP servers and automatically accept incoming calls from this SIP server. Audio connections in IP Leased Line and in AoIP dial-up Mode can be established with the Secure Streaming functionality for a highly reliable transmission.

Via the Ember+ protocol 64 inputs and 64 outputs can be programmed, an easy communication between MAGIC ACip3 and e.g. DHD or Lawo mixing consoles is possible.

FrameFormer conversion – Hiscale FLICS

InSync Technology, experts in software motion compensated standards conversion, have partnered with Hiscale, specialists in high-performance, scalable software products, to deliver a flexible on-demand conversion solution for broadcasters and content owners of any size.

The integration will benefit broadcasters and content owners who face unexpected needs for frame rate and format conversion, such as when footage that was expected to be 1080 50i turns out to be 720 30p, and there’s no option to reshoot, or when a client requests a clip for integration into a UHD 59p program, but the only version on the server is HD 50i.

Keeping a standards converter on standby for such situations is not cost-effective. That’s why InSync and Hiscale have joined forces to create a new option for pay-per-use standards conversion — FrameFormer for FLICS. With FrameFormer for FLICS, users pay for time-limited use on their preferred cloud platform, so there’s no large upfront cost to start using a new converter, and the customer avoids being locked into a costly contract with a single vendor.

FrameFormer is a high quality, motion compensated standards converter that offers frame rate and format conversion including de-interlacing, up/down/cross conversion, aspect ratio conversion, cadence management, and SDR/HDR/WCG tools for all types of content, from sub-QCIF up to 8K and beyond. Interoperable Master Format (IMF)

IMF support within CLEAR includes the ability to create deliverables for different platforms (Netflix, iTunes etc.) and specifications (like DPP) from an IMF package. CLEAR also includes the world’s first IMF Player that provides the ability to preview, playback, review and distribute over a streaming proxy a Composition Playlist (CPL) with all its essences including video, audio and captions. This enables collaboration and decision making in the workflow using proxies without having to necessarily access the original IMF package in high-res each time a CPL has to be played back. The IMF support in CLEAR is built using the product’s native Hybrid Cloud architecture that supports distributed workflows, and allows packaging and delivery of IMF packages from remote locations, public cloud infrastructure (Amazon/Azure) and customer premises.
