In combination with the Protech HDF viewfinder, the return video confirmation function is very convenient for multi-camera recording. This function can be realized without relying on the functions of the camera body. For example, even in one-man multi-camera recording with two professional camcorders, you can operate the other camera while checking and controlling the fixed-point camera image. It becomes possible to do.
Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens
A dynamic ultra wide-angle focal length with an especially bright design, the FE 14mm f/1.8 GM from Sony is a fast, versatile lens well-suited to landscape, nature, architectural, and astrophotography applications. Its extremely wide-but-usable perspective is complemented by the f/1.8 maximum aperture for excellent performance in low-light conditions and increased control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements and one super ED element to reduce chromatic aberrations, plus two XA (extreme aspherical) elements that significantly control spherical aberrations for a high degree of image sharpness and clarity. A Nano AR II coating has been applied to limit ghosting and lens flare for increased contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
An XD Linear Motor system uses two separate motors to provide quick and quiet focus, and also lends more responsive control for manual focus operation. A minimum focus of just 9.8" and an ultra-wide field of view opens a new world of deep perspective close-up photography. Also, the lens features a dust- and moisture-sealed design and fluorine-coated outer elements to support shooting in inclement conditions.
- A focus hold button is present on the lens barrel for intuitive tactile control and rapid access to select programmable settings.
- Physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth, silent aperture switching to benefit video applications. The ring also incorporates a locking "A" position for use in automated exposure modes.
- Dust- and moisture-sealed design better permits working in inclement conditions and rubberized control rings benefit handling in colder temperatures.
- Fluorine-coated front and rear elements resist dust, moisture, and fingerprints and are easy to clean.
- Filter holder is incorporated at the rear of the lens, within the lens mount, and accepts cut gel filters and a filter cutting template is included.
- Integrated petal-shaped lens hood helps to block stray light from causing lens flare and also affords some physical protection to the front element.

Zoom Servo Drive Chrosziel CDM-MK-Z
The Sony FS5, FS7, F5 or F55 operator may choose from four different zoom modes: EB / Documentary Mode, Live / Hardcut Mode, Direct Mode and Silent Mode. The fine tuning of the zoom curves took place during a workshop with Uli Mors in Dortmund, Germany. Here, Chrosziel cooperated with experienced camera operators to achieve best results for image control.
The main goal was to find ways using the full capacity of the LANC protocol and the Sony handgrip to cover a huge range of applications. Additional control commands are immediately looped through to the camera (e.g. menu / user buttons). Thus, makes the CDM-MK-Z the perfect accessory for Sony cameras and Fujinon MK lenses.
The mounting of the Lens Motorization MK-Zoom is very comfortable. Just screw the two captive screws into the threads of the Fujinon MK Zoom lens, connect the D-Tap power cable with the appropriate camera port and the two Jack cables with the handgrip and the camera.
The slightly rounded CDM-MK-Z housing fits perfectly with the lens. The gear meshes exactly with the zoom gear ring of the lens. The integrated PCB with CPU of the zoom motor sets instantaneously control commands that come from a SONY or any other LANC-compatible handle.
Zoom Servo Drive Chrosziel CDM-LWZ3-Z
The CDM-LWZ3-Z is designed for the Zeiss Lightweight Zoom LWZ 21-100 mm/T2.9-3.9 T zoom lens (ZEISS LWZ.3). With the Zoom Servo Drive Chrosziel addresses camera operators working in the broadcast, documentary, and related sectors offering a reasonably priced device enabling creative processes that may be impossible while pulling zoom manually.
It adds only indispensable weight to the setup. It contains one digital servo motor, the gear and a PCB with CPU in one single housing. The mounting of the Zoom Servo Drive makes the operator’s workflow comfortable. Just three captive screws are needed to mount it onto the Zeiss Lightweight Zoom (LWZ.3).
Until today, zoom servo drives were operated either by the inbuilt zoom rocker or external zoom devices. A second handgrip controls the camera settings or user commands. Both units are separated from each other and cannot be operated by one single hand. With the CDM-LWZ3-Z Chrosziel was able to unify both functionalities into one single unit. Supported are the smart grips of the Sony PXW-FS5 and Sony PXW-FS7 or any LANC compatible zoom rocker.
For operation the power cable is connected and the two Jack cables with the handgrip and the camera. Once powered the zoom servo drive calibrates automatically the end stops of the lens. To further support the operator’s piece of mind Chrosziel implemented the so called “Soft Ramping”. Instead of having the zooming suddenly and unexpectedly stop, the zoom gently slows down the movement of the lens at the end stops.
By using a LANC device the operator may build his or her setup, like shoulder, Steadicam or Gimbal applications. Thus, the CDM-LWZ3-Z makes an all-day companion for the Zeiss Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 21-100 mm/T2.9-3.9 T zoom lens (ZEISS LWZ.3) and gives the camera operator the freedom of creativity needed. Control commands (e.g. menu / user buttons / focus magnification / camera run & stop) are immediately looped through to the camera via the LANC protocol.
For freedom of creativity the operator may choose from four different zoom modes: EB / Documentary Mode, Live / Hardcut Mode, Silent, and Direct Mode.
Zoom Servo Drive Chrosziel CDM-XK-Z
The weight of the CDM-XK-Z including digital motor, gear, PCB with CPU, screws and cabling is 0.44 lbs. (197 gram). With the zoom servo drive Chrosziel addresses camera operators who are working in the broadcast and documentary sector looking for a reasonably priced zoom servo drive.
Until today, the standard in zooming was using the zoom rocker of the smart grip or any other LANC compatible hand grip. A second hand grip was necessary for controlling the camera setting or forwarding any user commands. Since both devices were separated, the operator always needed to change his grip.
With the CDM-XK-Z Chrosziel unifies both functionalities into one single unit.
To further support the operator’s piece of mind Chrosziel implemented the so called “Soft Ramping”: Instead of having the zooming suddenly and unexpectedly stop, the zoom gently slows down the movement of the lens at the end stops.
By using a LANC device the operator may build his or her setup, like shoulder, Steadicam or Gimbal applications. Thus, makes the CDM-XK-Z an all-day companion for the Fujinon XK6x20 20-120 mm and gives the camera operator additional freedom of creativity. The operator may choose from four different zoom modes: EB / Documentary Mode, Live / Hardcut Mode, Silent, and Direct Mode.
EB / Documentary Mode
Designed for long and smooth zoom drives with the CDM-LWZ3-Z it offers slow creeping zoom transitions while keeping the motive perfectly framed.
Silent Mode
To reduce the sound of the zoom servo drive the maximum speed of its motor is limited to 40 percent making the setup almost inaudible.
Live / Hardcut Mode
To catch the best moments, the Live / Hardcut Mode is useful. It uses 80 percent of the maximum speed capacity of the motor offering fast zoom drives but with Soft Ramping.
Direct Mode
The Direct Mode finally uses the full speed capacity of the Zoom Servo Drive. The LANC commands are implemented instantaneously without ramping and smooth transitions. Useful for B camera operators catching snaps shots from the concert.
