The next generation of edit bridge brings all the power and capability of the existing product in a ‘scale-out’ version, enabling the attachment of many more non Avid concurrent and non-concurrent editors.
Marquis EDIT BRIDGE enables the seamless integration of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects CC in an Avid Interplay environment. It includes two Custom Panels for Premiere Pro which allow you to control the workflow directly from the Premiere Pro user interface.
IMPORT FROM INTERPLAY
The import panel allows Premiere Pro users to browse the contents of Avid Interplay and select items for use in Premiere Pro. Having selected the media, Edit Bridge will then deliver it to Premiere Pro in one of two ways depending upon the codec. Depending upon the codec and settings Edit Bridge will either deliver the media by reference so that it can be instantly ‘edited in place’ in Premiere Pro, or it will be transferred to a network location and re-wrapped on the fly to a wrapper appropriate for Premiere Pro.
INTERPLAY BROWSE AND INGEST PANEL FOR PREMIERE PRO OR AFTER EFFECTS
The Marquis Interplay Browse and Ingest panel for Premiere Pro and After Effects allows Adobe users to browse the content of an Avid Interplay system and select content that they want to use in Premiere Pro.
The Marquis panel then allows the user to either:
EDIT IN PLACE: Import the content within Premiere Pro without transferring any content. The imported content is purely a reference to the original Avid content on the ISIS storage.
TRANSFER AND RE-WRAP: Transfer the content from the Avid ISIS and convert the content to MXF Op1a for use in Premiere Pro.
EXPORT TO INTERPLAY
Marquis have built on its many years of experience in edit system integration solutions to develop a custom panel for Premiere Pro CC that will allow users to export content and metadata from Premiere Pro and into Avid Interplay PAM.
This panel will allow the Premiere Pro CC user to:
• Export content from Premiere from the panel and monitor progress
• Create Content in Interplay
• Create MXF OpAtoms on ISIS
• “Check-In” Clip metadata to Interplay PAM
Fotonflite™ enables a high performance, secure ‘on-the-fly’, point to point transfer of Avid Media Composer projects and media workspaces between source Avid ISIS / NEXIS and a broad range of target storage types, including Avid, generic and proprietary storage. It is unique in its ability to do this especially with Avid ISIS / NEXIS work-in-progress.
Fotonflite has been developed in response to two different customer requirements:
· A studio that needed to securely sync Avid NEXIS between US and UK
· A post house who wanted to securely protect and manage remote freelance Media Composer projects on Tier 2 storage.
Existing transfer technologies were deemed insecure as they required data ‘at rest’ outside of the connected servers. Fotonflite solves this problem by deploying an always ‘in-flight’ encrypted point to point connection.
Using unique ISIS / NEXIS analytics, Fotonflite also transfers the project and media changes as ‘delta transfers’. This intelligence transforms the speed and efficiency of subsequent updates or backups. In some scenarios, reducing network payload by 90%.
This whitepaper describes the underlying technical approach behind Fotonflite and highlights a number of newly supported workflows.
Fotonflite is an option within Marquis Workspace Sync, Workspace Backup and Project Parking. It is available as an upgrade for existing customers with a valid support contract and as an option for new customers. It also offers more choices when deploying remote disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to protect Avid ISIS / NEXIS work-in-progress.

TMD’s Media Portal has been developed to provide a standardised method of receiving content. It is designed to make it simpler for media organisations to manage the process of receiving content, along with making it easier and more efficient for studios and third-party collaborators to deliver content to them. Media Portal provides an intuitive solution to transfer media content, with no technical knowledge required. This is preferable to many other methods of transferring content, where there may be limitations on file sizes and formats as well as security challenges.
With Mediaflex Media Portal, all that is required is for suppliers to access the web address of the organisation’s portal, which could be on the public internet. Once logged in the user is immediately presented with what media content they need to transfer to the Mediaflex platform. The first screen the user sees is a hierarchical list of media content grouped by Series, Season, Episode and Versions, all ordered by deadline date.
Once uploaded, the video content then goes through an initial set of pre-configured ingest technical QC processes, making it easy to see which files have been successfully uploaded, passed the initial technical checks and are ready to send onto the next stages of the content supply chain processes. Any number of users can upload at the same time from different user accounts located across multiple locations around the world. Configurable metadata fields are completed by the user at the same time, enabling discoverability and searchability of the content once it is enters Mediaflex as a media item.
Media Portal includes comprehensive logging of events including capturing the details of all files uploaded, sent and deleted. The interface is configurable for each media organisation, and intuitively provides support information and support availability based on the location of the user.
"There isn’t a better way for editors to work together remotely." Patrick Southern, Frame.io
Besides always saving all your documents locally, PostLab syncs all changes to your whole team - wherever they are. Beats zipping and emailing documents back and forth all the time, we think.
No more broken files
Two people working on the same file at the same time is an accident waiting to happen. The second you start working on a document, PostLab locks it for all other team members — and shows you who is doing what.
Time Machine 2.0
Browse the history of each library, jump back and forth between versions, find that particular edit within a minute, and open it exactly like you left it — down to the blinking playhead.
6 things, and you're up to speed:
Productions are the core of PostLab. It's inside a production that PostLab saves all your data, locally on your Mac. All changes are tracked and uploaded to PostLab's cloud, enabling all your team members to always be in sync with your local changes.
PostLab is specifically built for editors, so documents like FCP libraries and Premiere Pro projects get a special treatment: add your documents to a Production, and PostLab will track changes, save versions, check for offline media, spot compatibility issues... and a lot more.
Still FedExing hard drives? Nowadays, everyone should have access to their media, without delays. Whether it's full res media, proxies, or assets like PDFs, images, and stills - integrated with Postlab, LucidLink gives your team access to all your files.
Nothing is as frustrating as losing work because someone else is working in the same file at the same time. PostLab locks Final Cut Pro Libraries and Premiere Pro Projects when in use, so no one else interferes with your work. Paired with Mimiq Pro, you gain cloud-based bin locking for Avid Media Composer.
In PostLab, everyone's on a team - even if you're a team of one. Every team member has access to each other's productions, and may invite guests to work on productions. Larger teams can assign roles, like editor, reviewer, manager, and owner.
Project management is always the hardest thing to organize. In PostLab, you have straightforward and lightweight tools at hand to create tasks for yourself or others, comment on them and assign project statuses. Always know where the team's at, at a glance.
How PostLab helps you out
Band Of Brothers
Know who's is working on what, what has already been done, and what is next - all without having to call or email. PostLab keeps you in the loop by tracking all changes, comments and statuses. No one is left behind.
Being colleagues doesn't necessarily mean you're in the same building, at the same time. PostLab allows you to work together seamlessly, whether you're sitting next to each other or working continents apart.
Back To The Future
Need a clip of that film you did two years ago, but with new graphics? Locate your old edit, open it alongside your new timeline and simply drag and drop what you need. You can even open multiple versions of the same project, all at the same time.
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Say goodbye to relinking: with PostLab, you only get the good stuff. Every team member can move files around as they see fit - without the others ever needing to relink. I love media management, said no one ever.
“Previously, we were emailing XML files back and forth between editors, and we had to be very careful to keep everything in sync. With PostLab, we're now assured that our editors work on the latest version of the edit.” Casimir Artmann, Artmann Media
No more "this_edit_by_felix_v1_v2_def_def2_final". With PostLab, there is no need for keeping multiple versions around; PostLab keeps a copy of every saved file, for as long as you want. A single file with unlimited undo, right there in front of you.
Remember when last year's client called about that scene that didn't make the cut, but now they need it ASAP? With PostLab, it's a matter of seconds: locate the version of your edit, open it, and it's all there like it's yesterday.
If you ask us, a team of one is a still a team. Chances are you're jumping in and out of projects all the time, so here's a helping hand: PostLab will tell you what you already did, when you did it, and what's left to do, for some good old peace of mind.
Ever uploaded a file to cloud storage to find Finder tags to be gone? Because the metadata is just as important as the clip itself, we built our media storage to be 100% compatible with your file system.
Bin locking is a simple concept: it stops others from overwriting your files while you're working on them. It allows editors to collaborate, and was introduced by Avid in Media Composer.
With the bin you're working in locked, no-one else can get in to your edit. When you're done, the bins are unlocked, so others can add to or modify your work.
Sounds simple, but not if you want to use third-party storage for your Avid. Mimiq changes all of that.
Until Mimiq, the only way to work collaboratively with other Media Composer editors was through expensive proprietary hardware. There was no way to use the plethora of third-party storage available to everyone at sensible prices.
Now, anyone can set up a collaborative editing workflow for Media Composer.
"Mimiq is an incredible piece of software for Media Composer users, giving you complete freedom to use whatever shared storage system you prefer." Zeb Chadfield, The Finish Line
Bring your own shared storage
Mimiq frees you from vendor lock-in; you just pick whichever shared storage you prefer to work with. Any NAS will do, saving you money on hardware that you can spend instead to enhance creativity. Gone are the days when you're coerced into buying expensive proprietary storage that acts like a giant dongle, just to enable bin locking.
Turn any type of block storage into a Media Composer-compatible volume. For SAN, RAID, and even your internal SSD. Remote workflow? Sync your media with your favorite tool or service, and let Mimiq manage the Workspaces for complete control of your volume names and paths.
For remote and hybrid teams
Supercharge your Media Composer workflow with Mimiq Pro and LucidLink. Whether you and your team work on-prem or remote, with LucidLink's Filespaces it's a seemless transition. Already have invested in local shared storage? Add it to the mix too, for the perfect hybrid workflow.
Up-to-date and future proof
Nodody likes doing the same thing twice, unless it's about offering proper native OS support. As with all Hedge apps, Mimiq has separate dedicated technology for both macOS and Windows, making sure you get the best experience whether you're on Mac or Windows. And yes, that includes native Apple silicon support — an industry exclusive.
Modern license management
Forget the rigid MAC address licenses of the old Mimiq. No need for a degree in IT to set up or move licenses. Through our License Manager, it's dead easy now, with unlimited portability and even remote deactivations.
No setup fees or long-term contracts
Because Mimiq is not a subscription, pricing is very flexible. No need for a support contract, there are no monthly fees, and the 10-day trial ensures you know Mimiq will work for you and your team before spending a dime. Best of all: adding more people to your team doesn't break the bank.
Wide version support
No editor likes upgrading their Media Composer if it can be avoided. That's why we are on par with Avid, supporting all versions of Media composer that Avid supports, an even wider range of macOS versions, and of course, Windows 10 and 11.
Securely share and collect feedback on media across your organization and with external collaborators using extensive privacy controls by way of watermarking, password protection and time specific expiration of shared links with the new Review Hub platform.
