MediorNet Compact

Artist-1024 is the next evolutionary step in the continuous development of the Artist intercom ecosystem. This new node complements the Artist family, expanding its capabilities with a focus on IP-based installations and higher port densities. With Artist-1024, full compatibility is guaranteed. The node can be eff ortlessly added into any Artist fi ber ring and, just like its siblings Artist-32, Artist-64, and Artist-128, is easily and intuitively confi gured within the Director software environment.

As its name suggests, the Artist-1024 node boasts 1024 non-blocking ports in just a 2RU frame size. This unparalleled port density signifi cantly reduces rack space requirements and creates powerful effi  ciencies in any application where space is a critical factor. This latest addition to the Artist ecosystem introduces a range of technical innovations centered around a software-defi nable Universal Interface Card (UIC). This entirely new type of interface card combines networking, mixing, and management and can be confi gured to act as a SMPTE 2110-30/31 (AES67) or MADI subscriber card, or as an Artist fi ber/router/processor card. Changing the connectivity type is as easy as reconfi guring the UIC with the click of a button in Director, Artist’s powerful confi guration software. With Director, this reconfi guration is completed within seconds! The physical SFP modules are also changed with ease, e.g. from fi ber to copper.

The frame provides ten bays for UICs, with two being reserved solely for routing and networking UICs. The remaining eight bays can be fl exibly equipped with UICs of various confi gurations to provide subscriber connectivity. The integral mixer on each subscriber card can be scaled from 8 to 128 ports per card and can access all 1024 channels of the Artist backbone. In addition, four expansion slots are available for various GPIO or synchronization applications. Since UICs support internal sample rate conversion, each card can be connected to a diff erent clock environment (MADI, PTPv2). An optional sync module can be used to sync to Wordclock, Blackburst, and PTPv2. From any sync source, the entire Artist system can be synced to any connected sync domain.

Artist-1024 also introduces a new customer-friendly, fl exible licensing scheme with frame-level licensing instead of connectivity-type licensing. Each node starts with a Virtual Artist Matrix (VAM) license which includes a defi ned number of ports (16 to 1024) that can be freely distributed across the node’s subscriber cards. Besides these node-locked licenses, there are also fl exible licenses that allow for fast (re)confi guration of the system by simply moving capacities between nodes. Since the licensing model does not involve connectivity, systems can be freely altered to meet any connectivity requirement.

Artist-1024 has been architected with redundancy at its core. By supporting multiple redundancy schemes including N+1, NIC, and SMPTE 2022-7, it can provide an unprecedented degree of robustness and reliability. In addition to SMPTE 2022-7-compliant stream redundancy, there are several redundancy mechanisms in place to avoid single points of failure: The N+1 subscriber redundancy scheme includes a hot spare card that can take over the confi guration of any other subscriber card while the NIC scenario allows a seamless handover between the two routing cards of a single node. As expected from a professional system, all control logic and data links within the frame are redundant. The advanced frame design provides additional security with two load-sharing PSUs and a fan module with redundant fan units. The sum of these measures equals the most comprehensive comms safety net available on the market.

The frame design is rounded off  by an e-ink display that provides confi guration and licensing information, even when powered off . Artist-1024 also off ers fl exible mounting options: The frame can be mounted with an off set of 0, 25, 50 or 75mm and can be rotated in the rack. If required, the ventilation can be reversed to provide effi  cient cooling in any situation.

As an all-new wireless intercom system capable of supporting up to 250 beltpacks and 100 antennas in a single deployment, Bolero is a true game-changer. Bolero redefines the wireless intercom category with features such as its ADR (Advanced DECT Receiver) with multi-diversity and anti-reflection technology for greater RF robustness, “Touch&Go” NFC beltpack registration, and versatile operation as a wireless beltpack, a wireless keypanel, or — in an industry first — a walkie-talkie.

With the addition of the newest Bolero Standalone 2110 (AES67) mode, there are now three network modes available for Bolero systems – each of them dedicated to specific applications.

Bolero Integrated leverages the powerful Artist ecosystem, including SmartPanels and extensive I/O connectivity, and runs over a standards-based SMPTE 2110-30 (AES67) IP network. Decentralized Bolero antennas connect to AES67-capable switches and to Artist frames equipped with AES67 client cards, providing a fully integrated point-to-point seamless handover intercom ecosystem. With each decentralized antenna and beltpack added, coverage and network robustness are increased. Up to 250 beltpacks per Bolero Net are now supported.

Bolero Standalone Link provides plug & play simplicity that is ideal for smaller installations, portable deployments, or cases where IP networks are not required. Up to 100 antennas and 100 beltpacks can be quickly and easily set up and configured via a web browser, without the need for an Artist Intercom matrix since audio mixing and all control functions are handled by the antennas. Antennas may be positioned in a redundant ring or daisy chain topology, or deployed individually using CAT5 cabling. With the optional EPS-1005 power supply, up to five antennas can be powered and adding multiple PSUs creates a redundant power ring. Finally, an NSA-002A stream adapter is used to interface Bolero with other intercom systems via analog 4-wire and provide GPIOs for convenient external device handling.

Similarly, Bolero Standalone 2110 (AES67) lets users establish IP-based Bolero networks without the need for an Artist matrix. The antennas are distributed over a SMPTE 2110-30 (AES67) IP network and connected via AES67 PoE switches. As in Standalone Link deployments, audio mixing and control functions are handled by the antennas and 100 beltpacks can be accommodated per Bolero Net and configured via a web browser. An optional NSA-002A provides analogue interfacing and GPIOs and fiber-connected switches or switch cascades can be used to cover long distances.

The Bolero high-clarity voice codec provides both higher speech intelligibility and more efficient use of RF spectrum supporting twice the number of beltpacks per antenna for the same radio bandwidth as other DECT-based systems. The Riedel-exclusive ADR technology combines a unique receiver design with multiple diversity elements specifically designed to reduce sensitivity to multipath reflections, making Bolero useable in challenging RF environments where other systems have great difficulty.

The beltpack itself features six intercom channels and a separate “Reply” button for a quick reply to the last caller. Bolero’s sunlight readable and dimmable display can be rotated so that it is readable in any orientation. Also, in an industry first, the beltpack can be used without a headset like a walkie-talkie radio utilizing an integrated mic and speaker. Bolero beltpacks support Bluetooth, allowing either a Bluetooth headset or a Smartphone to be connected. When a Smartphone is connected, the beltpack can act like a car’s “hands free” setup so the user can receive calls on their phone and talk and listen via their beltpack headset. Users can also inject phone calls directly into the intercom channels, providing new levels of workflow flexibility.

Based on Riedel’s extensive rental experience, the beltpack uses a combination of premium materials, including high-impact plastics and rubber overmolds, making it both tough and comfortable to use in any situation.

MicroN, an 80G media distribution network device for Riedel Communications’ MediorNet line of real-time media networks, makes it easy and economical for broadcasters to adapt their fiber-based signal transport systems to accommodate the mix of signals and variety of processing functions required by current and future operations.

The newest addition to the MediorNet family, the MicroN provides a highly versatile signal interface that can be used in productions of every size and complexity. In a compact 1-RU form factor ideal for rack-mount applications, MicroN features eight 10G high-speed SFPs, 24 3G-SDI video, two MADI, Gigabit Ethernet, and integrated routing and sync reference I/Os. Built-in video and audio processing capabilities include automatic format detection, a frame sync and framestore on all video outputs, a 16-channel audio embedder/de-embedder, a test pattern generator, on-screen and system VITC displays, an integrated sample-rate converter, and audio/video delay lines.

MicroN is software-defined hardware so can take on several different purposes through the use of apps. Current apps included standalone signal processor, point-to-point transport, decentralized routing, MultiViewer, and IP Gateway.

In large MediorNet networks, MicroN can serve as a breakout box for a Riedel MetroN core fiber router. Working seamlessly with the MediorNet MetroN, MicroN can extend connectivity beyond the fiber I/Os to any type of video and audio I/O required.

Operating in standalone mode, the MicroN can act as a 12x12 router and audio embedder/de-embedder with MADI SRC and delay, and it also provides video frame sync and delay. In a point-to-point deployment, multiple paired MicroN units can provide all of these capabilities plus support for up to 12 bidirectional SDI I/Os, two MADI I/Os, and a Gigabit Ethernet link.

Multiple MicroNs can be integrated as a central video router for redundant processing of up to 192x192 HD-SDI signals, or they can be deployed in a distributed fashion as a decentralized video router. By interconnecting MicroN nodes in a meshed fashion, broadcasters realize a very scalable video routing network that can be used as a replacement for small to medium sized routers. With an inherently flexible system design, this solution allows users to extend both signal capacity and distributed system locations simply by adding MicroN nodes to the network.

Deployed along with MediorNet systems, Riedel’s MicroN gives broadcasters the benefits of a truly integrated solution with built-in routing and processing capabilities. In addition to yielding significant cost savings, solutions built on MediorNet and MicroN allow users to work with all variety of video, from analog and SD to 4K, and audio ranging from analog to AES3/ MADI, or tunneling of any kind of Ethernet traffic. In addition to handling data, comms, and GPIOs, such solutions provide valuable routing capabilities, both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint. The Densité 3+ XIP-3901 from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, is an agile processing platform that focuses on high-quality live production for HD, 1080p, 4K UHD and HDR. This platform is a bridge for the hybrid world, consisting of today’s proven SDI technology and the IP connectivity of tomorrow. To meet customers’ needs both now and in the future, the XIP-3901 uses a flexible “virtualized” hardware platform. Based on a powerful FPGA engine, the XIP-3901 can be reconfigured with software updates for different applications as requirements change.

The XIP-3901 agile processing platform with a rear XIP-3901-3+DRP comes with all the 12G/quad link 3G/3G/HD-SDI connectivity to support two 4K UHD processing paths with dual 25 GbE SFP cages for future IP I/O migration. The XIP-3901 is installed in the established Densité modular frame. Due to advanced processing capabilities and power requirements, the XIP-3901 is supported by the Densité 3+ FR1 and FR4 frames. The initial applications for the XIP-3901 agile IP/SDI processing platform provides full functionality of up/down/framesync-gearbox processing capability delivered through three applications that allow your live productions — either from trucks, venues or stadiums — to make the most of the new 4K UHD and HDR formats. This includes playout channels where output of a 4K UHD HDR channel needs to be downconverted for an HD SDR simulcast version.

Densité 3+ XIP-3901-UC is an application that provides a dual-channel 12G/quad link 3G/3G/HD-SDI upconverter, which is designed to synchronize, upconvert and process HD and 3G 1080p signals for both 1080p and 4K UHD 2160p broadcast production. The XIP-3901-UC application features broadcast-quality scalers, motion-adaptive de-interlacers and color space conversions from ITU-R BT.709 to ITU-R BT.2020. Densité 3+ XIP-3901-DC* is an application that provide a dual-channel 12G/quad link 3G/3G/HD downconverter, which is designed to synchronize, downconvert and process 4K UHD 2160p and 1080p for both 1080p and HD broadcast production. The XIP-3901-DC application features broadcast-quality down-scalers, interlacers and color space conversions from ITU-R BT.2020 to ITU-R BT.709. Densité 3+ XIP-3901-FS* is an application that provide a dual-channel 12G/quad link 3G/3G/HD frame synchronizer with gearbox functionality, which is designed to synchronize and convert color space between ITU-R BT.2020 and ITU-R BT.709 in 4K UHD, 1080p and HD broadcast productions. All applications will delay 12G/3G/HD embedded audio and metadata to maintain synchronization with video. The IQUCP50 is a user configurable multi-channel video over IP transceiver developed for use within low latency and high bandwidth Ethernet IP networks. Using RTP VSF TR-03 (SMPTE 2110), TR-04 and SMPTE 2022-6 encoding and encapsulation schemes, along with clause 74 FEC, enables the IQUCP50 to encode or decode up to 16 SDI signals and transport them over redundant 50GbE links (SMPTE 2022-7) with either dual or single port options. To enable hardware processing flexibility IQUCP50 has a variety of Software Defined Cores (SDCs) available that can be purchased and loaded as operational needs demand. SDCs can be installed via a licensing mechanism and include; essence processing for SDI to IP gateway type applications, signal monitoring for multi-viewer style applications, network processing for IP transcoding and NAT firewall applications, and signal processing for broadcast quality conversion and processing requirements. With it’s essence processing SDC IQUCP50 provides frame synchronized SDI outputs along with both uncompressed and compressed (using SMPTE-2042 - VC2) modes of IP operation. Encapsulation of signals in a SMPTE 2022-6 transport stream is also catered for. IQUCP50 is fully compatible with GV’s new broadcast centric IP routing and network management solution designed to migrate Broadcasters from a traditional baseband routing and control environment to new Hybrid SDI and IP workflows.

The Aperi A1105 1RU Switch/Compute platform comprises of 10/40 GbE, industry-leading wire-speed switching silicon and five accelerated, pluggable microservers providing unequaled density and integration of low-latency switching and high performance computing.

The consolidation of Ethernet switching fabric and microserver compute elements enables the lowest rack density and power efficiency possible while ensuring optimal reliability for service aggregation in an architecture that scales perfectly for data center and network access low-latency service applications. Depending on applications the microserver hardware acceleration can achieve multiples of compute over traditional x86 processing at a fraction of the consumed power resulting in tens of rack units of servers, associated cabling and switching collapsing into a 1RU A1105. A key building block of Nevion’s virtualization strategy, Nevion Virtuoso is a software-defined media node platform, designed to perform a variety of real-time media transport, processing, and monitoring in both LANs (e.g. facilities) and WANs (e.g. contribution). Its functionality is upgradable and configurable through software, known as media function virtualization. It is standards based and ready to be deployed rapidly in a modern NMOS and ST 2110 environment, as well as a more traditional SDI setting.

Centrally managing Nevion Virtuosos in the field could not be simpler – thanks to Nevion VideoIPath orchestration and SDN management software. Nevion VideoIPath can be used to set-up Media Functions on the Nevion Virtuosos (in a plan and organized way), route signals to and from Media Functions on any Nevion Virtuoso in the media network, and the appliances in the network.

The vm_udx “virtual module” is a software app that provides format conversions between SD, HD, 3G and UHD formats in the Lawo V__matrix ecosystem. In addition to up, down and cross conversion the vm_udx also provides audio embedding/de-embedding, proc amp and RGB/YUV color correction and color space conversion (SDR to/from HDR) functionality. Designed from the start for IP networking, the vm_udx app natively supports ST2022-6 and ST2110-20 IP video plus ST2110-30/-31/AES67 and Ravenna IP audio streams. Conversion between IP video and IP audio standards – ST2022 to ST2110, for example – is also possible. To ensure high availability, ST2022-7 hitless protection switching is natively supported.

The vm_udx app provides a format conversion engine capable of processing four SD, HD, 3G or one UHD path for IP and/or SDI signals. Each path provides audio embedding/de-embedding/shuffling functionality. Audio gain, delay and sample rate conversion can be accessed through independent processing blocks, which can be inserted at any point of the processing chain. Eight instances of broadcast quality RGB and YUV color correction and video proc are also available as processing blocks for use by any video source, whether SDI or IP, and available both pre- and post-format conversion.

For even more functionality, add the +HDR option to enable four instances of SDRHDR color space conversion using 3D lookup tables. A large selection of LUTs especially developed for live production are included, and custom LUTs can also be uploaded too. The included LUTs allow for conversion between SDR and HDR in HLG and PQ.

The vm_avp “virtual module” app is a versatile audio and video processing software application that provides routing, processing and glue functionality for the V__matrix eco-system — a complete IP infrastructure solution that also provides a multitude of audio and video processing functions.

In base form, vm_avp provides encapsulation and de-encapsulation of 3G, HD and SD-SDI (ST2022-6/7 only) to IP ST2022-6 and ST2110-20/21/30/31/40, making vm_avp is the logical choice for both gateway and purely IP-based A/V processing, providing up to 160 SDIIP conversions in 3RU. ST2022-7 seamless protection switching is standard, with IP stream format conversion and frame accurate video switching using destination-timed clean and quiet switching (MBB & BBM) with audio V-fade during switching.

To further expand the usefulness of vm_avp, several optional add-on licenses are available:

• +audio – adds embedding/de-embedding and shuffling of audio from both IP and baseband I/O with sample rate conversion. 40 TX and RX instances of RAVENNA/AES67/ST2110-30/-31 streaming and an audio crossbar of 512 x 512.


• +audio_matrix – an additional upgrade to the +audio option, the +audio_matrix option provides a total of 88RX and 128TX instances of RAVENNA/AES67/ST2110-30/-31 streaming and an increased audio crossbar of up to 5,312 x 5,312.


• +madi – enables use of V__matrix BNC inputs and outputs to interface with MADI signals (AES10, 48kHz, 64 channels).


• +fs – adds framesync, frame phaser, sample rate conversion and audio/video delay functionality for both IP and baseband video inputs; also provides Dolby-E® auto-alignment functionality.


• +vc2 – adds visually lossless VC2/DiracPro ultra-low latency encoding and decoding; ST2042 low-delay profile.


• +proc_cc – adds YUV & RGB color correction, test pattern generator/inserter, and test tone generator.


• +12g – Adds support for 12 Gbps video standards and provides cross conversion capabilities between UHDTV1 Single-Link and Quad-Link.

Easy Statistics Access

All incidents are stored in a database. Through a web interface, both Intinor support and the customer can retrieve statistics for several measuring points connected to the video links. Users logs into the ISS management system and gets access to detailed graphs for all the measuring points. This feature is specifically useful if running a complex system using several IP links.

Troubleshooting

ISS is a powerful tool for troubleshooting video links. In a few seconds, the problem can be found and identified to render the right correctional response.

Alarms

ISS management can be configured to report alarms via email or text messages. Alarms can be triggered by loss of connectivity, loss of input signal, abnormal temperatures or hardware malfunctions. The alarms can be sent to Intinor and/or to the customer.

Flexible & Versatile

How it Works

Video from a camera or video mixer is connected to the Direkt link. Compressed video streams are broadcasted to one or more receivers. The configuration can be adjusted using the display and keypad on the encoder from a local web-interface or via ISS. The Direkt link can also record a broadcast to be used for on-demand-video or file based productions.

The sectional dynamic tone mapping technique is applied to several spatial areas (sectors) in the image. In this type of tone mapping technique, the algorithm adjusts the signal by using several dynamic curves, one per image segment/sector. The algorithm then combines the result with global dynamic curves based on the entire image. While the dynamic curves of the different sectors are perfectly adapted to the respective image content of their segments, the global curve is perfectly adapted to the content of the entire image. Depending on the image content within these sectors, the algorithm reacts dynamically, which allows lights and shadows to be treated independently. Therefore, dark areas can be brightened, and the bright areas can be darkened without getting a flat gradation of the image. “

HDR EVIE+ provides a 1x 4K/UHD processing channel supporting down-conversion from HDR transfer characteristics to SDR through appropriate sectional dynamic tone mapping. It also supports the Wide Color Gamut (WCG) needs of broadcasters and professional AV live events requirements. HDR Evie+ package also includes HDR Static configuration for Static HDR SDR conversions, which performs static tone mapping to realize UP/Down/Cross conversions between HDR and SDR, suited best for the studios or the environments where the light conditions do not change dynamically.

The broadcast industry lives a major transition, with the move away from baseband video to adopt IP-based video contribution workflows. This move is linked to a transition to IT-centric infrastructures, with the goal of optimizing broadcast infrastructures and production costs. It implies using traditional IT equipment and computer-based solutions where dedicated electronics was needed before.

Besides the well-known VideoMaster SDK dealing with the DELTACAST I/O cards and FLEX products, the DELTACAST portfolio now includes a new SDK (Software Development Kit) component called the IP Virtual Card, offering a new programming interface named VideoMaster IP.

The IP Virtual Card is a new video and multimedia programming interface allowing the use of 3rd-party computer network cards to capture and stream out video just like you are used to do over any DELTACAST card.

Designed from the ground up to allow high-performances multimedia capture and streaming using an off-the-shelf network card, the first version ofthe IP Virtual Card targets ST2110 connectivity.

The IP Virtual Card brings in support for video transport as per ST2110-20, audio transport as per ST2110-30, and ancillary data transport as per ST2110-40. It also includes a PTP synchronization solution compliant to ST2059-1. Thanks to an optimized network stack, the IP Virtual Card insures accurate, PTP locked, media streams compliant to ST2110-21 Type W senders, and it allows implementing ST2110-21 Type A receivers.

The IP Virtual Card implements an optimized network stack based on the operating system sockets, so that it is compatible with any NIC brand and model, and so that it can be used under Windows and Linux, and also targetting virtualization environments and execution in containers. For most demanding applications, the IP Virtual Card also exists in a version based on the DPDK kernel bypass.

The OG-DA-8-UHD and OG-DA-4-UHD now include 12G support for UHD applications. The models include 1x4 and 1x8 distribution amplifiers for auto-detected 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI signals and are designed specifically for the OGX/3.0 card-based openGear platform.

These are cost effective designs to split one 12G signal into four or eight and are useful in almost any broadcast or professional AV environment where clean signal splitting is required over long cable runs. Cable reach is up to 70 meters for 12G, up to 100 meters for 6G and up to 140 meters for 3G signals.

Cobalt’s new series of distribution amplifiers distributes 12G-SDI signals within an openGear frame in response to the industry’s rising demand for 4K.  The new 9915DA-1x16-12G 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI 1x16 Reclocking Distribution Amplifier supports an input channel which is distributed to 16 DA outputs. The 9915DA-1x16-12G also offers optional SFP support for fiber input and DA outputs.

Cobalt’s 9915DA-2x16-XPT-12G is a 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD Quad-Channel Multi-Rate Reclocking DA with x4 Output Crosspoint that supports two input channels which can be crosspoint-routed up to 16 DA outputs.

The Cobalt 9915DA-4x16-XPT-12G 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD Quad-Channel Multi-Rate Reclocking DA features the same x4 Output Crosspoint but supports four input channels which can also be crosspoint-routed to up to 16 DA outputs.

Producing HDR broadcasts with a mix of HDR and SDR sources has never been easier than with Cobalt’s implementation of Technicolor’s Intelligent Tone Mapping (ITM) and SL-HDR technology. With the 9904-UDX-4K processing card SDR can be turned into HDR dynamically without operator intervention. Similiarly HDR sources can be fed to SDR trucks or facilities if the production was shot in SDR.

For distribution of HDR content, Cobalt leverages Technicolor’s SL-HDR encode to create an SDR signal with metadata that can be reconstructed downstream to play the original HDR signal, or SDR depending on the capabilities of the TV or set top box. This allows for a single stream of transport to support both HDR and SDR devices. With the 9904-UDX-4K-HDR unit, the end-user can select to use Static, Dynamic, or Intelligent Dynamic HDR.

TICO-XS is a disruptive, innovative, visually lossless, light-weight and line-based compression technology, specifically designed to be used instead of uncompressed video in many applications. It is currently under standardization as JPEG XS.

TICO-XS is a smart upgrade path to manage higher resolutions (4K, 8K, …) and frame rates while assuring visual quality, keeping power and bandwidth at a reasonable budget and significantly reducing the complexity and cost of a system, a chip or an infrastructure.

From 3G-SDI to IP in 4K

The mapping of the TICO-XS mezzanine compression to carry UHDTV 4K 60P over a single 3G-SDI cable has been specified in the SMPTE RDD35. intoPIX provides the needed building blocks to create a 4K over 3G-SDI solutions. MicroN, an 80G media distribution network device for Riedel Communications’ MediorNet line of real-time media networks, makes it easy and economical for broadcasters to adapt their fiber-based signal transport systems to accommodate the mix of signals and variety of processing functions required by current and future operations.

The newest addition to the MediorNet family, the MicroN provides a highly versatile signal interface that can be used in productions of every size and complexity. In a compact 1-RU form factor ideal for rack-mount applications, MicroN features eight 10G high-speed SFPs, 24 3G-SDI video, two MADI, Gigabit Ethernet, and integrated routing and sync reference I/Os. Built-in video and audio processing capabilities include automatic format detection, a frame sync and framestore on all video outputs, a 16-channel audio embedder/de-embedder, a test pattern generator, on-screen and system VITC displays, an integrated sample-rate converter, and audio/video delay lines.

MicroN is software-defined hardware so can take on several different purposes through the use of apps. Current apps included standalone signal processor, point-to-point transport, decentralized routing, MultiViewer, and IP Gateway.

In large MediorNet networks, MicroN can serve as a breakout box for a Riedel MetroN core fiber router. Working seamlessly with the MediorNet MetroN, MicroN can extend connectivity beyond the fiber I/Os to any type of video and audio I/O required.

Operating in standalone mode, the MicroN can act as a 12x12 router and audio embedder/de-embedder with MADI SRC and delay, and it also provides video frame sync and delay. In a point-to-point deployment, multiple paired MicroN units can provide all of these capabilities plus support for up to 12 bidirectional SDI I/Os, two MADI I/Os, and a Gigabit Ethernet link.

Multiple MicroNs can be integrated as a central video router for redundant processing of up to 192x192 HD-SDI signals, or they can be deployed in a distributed fashion as a decentralized video router. By interconnecting MicroN nodes in a meshed fashion, broadcasters realize a very scalable video routing network that can be used as a replacement for small to medium sized routers. With an inherently flexible system design, this solution allows users to extend both signal capacity and distributed system locations simply by adding MicroN nodes to the network.

Deployed along with MediorNet systems, Riedel’s MicroN gives broadcasters the benefits of a truly integrated solution with built-in routing and processing capabilities. In addition to yielding significant cost savings, solutions built on MediorNet and MicroN allow users to work with all variety of video, from analog and SD to 4K, and audio ranging from analog to AES3/ MADI, or tunneling of any kind of Ethernet traffic. In addition to handling data, comms, and GPIOs, such solutions provide valuable routing capabilities, both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint. Embrionix SDI-IP (SMPTE ST2110) miniaturized emSFP and emFusion gateways now offer frame synchronization technology on encapsulation. How much video delay do you need?

Providing up to 800 frames of video delay, Crystal Vision's four variable video delay lines are ideal for matching any short or long delays in your IP or SDI system.

These video delays can be used with IP (ST 2022 and ST 2110 video), with SDI or with both IP and SDI at the same time for hybrid systems. This gives you the easiest possible SDI to IP upgrade, while also making them perfect for mixed SDI and IP installations as well as fully IP or fully SDI environments. They work with 31 different SDI video standards, including 1080p.

All include a framestore synchroniser and support PTP in addition to analogue references as a timing source.

The delay is adjustable in steps of frames. The amount of delay available in seconds depends on the video format.

The triple channel M-VIVID100-3 provides up to 100 frames of video delay per channel (four seconds in 1080i50).

The dual channel M-VIVID200-2 provides up to 200 frames of video delay per channel (eight seconds in 1080i50).

The dual channel M-VIVID400-2 offers up to 400 frames of video delay per channel (16 seconds in 1080i50).

The single channel M-VIVID800 provides up to 800 frames of video delay (32 seconds in 1080i50).

The M-VIVID range are software apps that run on the MARBLE-V1 media processor. A card that fits in the Vision 3 frame, MARBLE-V1 features a powerful CPU/GPU processor, six bi-directional SDI connections and four 10GbE SFP+ network interface ports and allows different apps to be installed when needs change.

Cleanit is a flexible and budget-friendly video and audio profanity delay system for live broadcasts.

Cleanit allows a live content stream to be delayed by up to 20 seconds (in HD), giving your operator time to react and prevent the broadcast of unwanted or offensive video or audio material. It's perfect at preventing expletives, obscene gestures, wardrobe malfunctions, bloopers, competitor mentions, coughing fits or technical problems from making it to air – whether regulations insist on protection of content or you want to control exactly what you broadcast.

Cleanit works with 3Gb/s, HD and SD video and with embedded audio as well as discrete AES and analogue audio and is based on Crystal Vision's Indigo range of modular products and frames.

Control is simple and intuitive – using either a computer GUI or a smart button box, with both manual and automatic control of the video and audio cover/uncover functions.

Cleanit is available in different versions to suit all requirements – whether you want the standard functionality or a more elaborate custom system designed specifically for your application. With Cleanit, you can get the perfect level of protection needed for your production.

The three standard versions of Cleanit take care of the most common applications.

Cleanit 1 allows for audio mute or shuffle to another embedded source of up to 16 audio channels of embedded audio.

Cleanit 2 is designed for those using discrete audio and allows for audio mute or shuffle of up to eight audio channels of analogue audio or 110 ohm AES.

Cleanit 3 gives the ability to freeze or black the video in addition to the audio muting or shuffling.

With Cleanit Custom, different functions can be added to the mix – such as inserting a graphic from a clipstore – with flexible customisation of the control GUIs and button box to satisfy individual requirements.

The FRC0710 offers advanced and unique features such as a calibrated high linearity over the entire bandwidth combined with a very high frequency stability. These features make the FRC0710 the perfect solution for a wide range of transmissions ranging from very small carriers to full transponder applications.
