Dalet Brio is an innovative and cost-effective platform for broadcast customers looking for non-proprietary hardware to digitize and playback their content, either as a complement or replacement of their existing video servers. Built on an IT-based input and output video platform, it seamlessly integrates with Dalet Solutions to provide a highly flexible and scalable end-to-end solution.
Dalet Brio units are designed to ingest and playout broadcast quality video in SD, HD, and UHD formats. They come in a variety of input/output or local/central storage combinations. Each unit is built on robust IT equipment with built-in redundancy.
Flexible Codec Support
Dalet Brio supports a very wide range of software codecs. In order to ensure broad interoperability, industry-standard wrappers such as Quicktime & MXF are supported, allowing seamless workflow integration with third-party NLEs and Dalet production tools. Dalet Brio can play any supported files, including a mix of SD, HD and UHD on the same timeline, back-to-back with dynamic cross-, up- and down- conversion of the video signal, as well as aspect ratio modifications.
Transition to IP
Dalet Brio is ready for the transition to IP-based video production, with the support of multiple video-over-IP standards from the high-end SMPTE 2022-6/-7 and SMPTE 2110, including NMOS interoperability, to the popular NewTek NDI streams. Dalet Brio supports hybrid SDI / IP workflows, to ensure that the transition to IP production is smooth. Dalet is working together with the AMWA association.

AirBox Multi Parallel Output allows simultaneous running of two or more SDI or IP streaming SD / HD outputs so that broadcasters can easily deliver parallel output in any combination needed to deliver the content.
AirBox supports a wide range of video / audio formats from almost every known platform for production Third-party video server files like Leitch, Seachange, etc. are supported natively.
Any modifications to the playlist can be made during the on-air session. There will be no locked videos in the playlist except the one being played at the moment. They can be changed, edited or substituted.
On-the-fly commands such as skip to next or jump can change the playback order. Such changes in order are carried out seamlessly without stopping the current session. The powerful Live Show Clipboard facilitates live productions, enabling the insertion and/or execution of different events or live streams.
AirBox enables playlist scheduling for weeks ahead for automated playout. The associated gaps and time overlaps are overcome dynamically to ensure smooth service even when timed activities interfere with each other. If content files or even entire schedules are missing and misplaced, special facilities guarantee continuous operation.

FrameFormer conversion – Dalet Amberfin
High quality motion compensated frame rate conversion is now available as an optional upgrade within the Dalet Amberfin media processing platform. This will benefit broadcasters and content owners who face unexpected needs for frame rate and format conversion, such as when footage that was expected to be 1080 50i turns out to be 720 30p, and there’s no option to reshoot, or when a client requests a clip for integration into a UHD 59p program, but the only version on the server is HD 50i.

offer:
Manual and automated file based QC analysis under the
following categories:
HD/UHD Master QC: A thorough technical evaluation of movies, scripted dramas/comedies, non-fiction series, documentaries etc. Often involves re-QC and re-delivery of rectified versions.
IMF/4K Master QC: Rigorous QC, involving the use of software like Clipster, Colorfront and Transkoder.
Third Party QC (HD/UHD/IMF): Part of the mastering process for high value content, this involves double checking the QC done by a primary vendor.
7.1 Complex Audio QC – Audio QC for theatrical and premium broadcast/OTT platforms. Often offered in parallel with UHD/IMF Master QC.
Acquisition QC – QC for long form content that has already been through Master QC.
Audio Asset QC - Audio QC of multiple audio stems, typically synchronized with a picture master. Involves delivery of mixes in multiple configurations (7.1, 5.1, 2.0), M&E, dialog, music, effects stems etc.
Master Asset/Image Sequence QC – Involves restoring Master DI image sequences like DPX/EXR and Cinema DCDM TIFF sequences from drives or LTO tapes, screening content and verifying check sums.
Library / Catalog QC – QC for general quality and technical attributes of legacy content, typically performed as part of migration, restoration or redistribution projects.
Spot QC – Spot check of content at 3-5 different points. Typically involves checking a minute at beginning, middle and end; along with verification of slate and file metadata.
Watch Down QC – Involves a linear watch down of content from start to end, only stopping to list major issues. Typically performed as a precaution on content which has already been through QC in the past.
