The Matrox® DSX LE5 Q25 and Matrox DSX LE5 D25 SMPTE ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards provide 25 GbE and 10 GbE interfaces for multi-channel IP video I/O from HD to 4K, with zero CPU usage.

The Matrox DSX LE5 ST 2110 network adapters offer complete ST 2110 offload allowing OEM software solutions to provide reliable and scalable COTS-based 10 GbE and 25 GbE IP solutions. These ST 2110 NIC cards offload all packet processing required for ST 2110-20, ST 2110-30, ST 2110-31, and ST 2110-40, as well as ST 2022-7 redundancy, to free up system resources. With ST 2110-21 packet pacing built into the NIC, software solutions can provide guaranteed narrow senders (Type N) under all conditions independent of CPU load and OS interactions. The DSX LE5 ST 2110 cards also provide line rate capture allowing for wide asynchronous receivers (Type A). Both the permissive wide asynchronous receivers and the, ST 2110-21 packet paced, narrow senders allow software solutions to guarantee universal compatibility and interoperability at scale.

Matrox DSX LE5 ST 2110 NIC cards also offer integrated, hardware-based PTP support allowing for ST 2059-2 accuracy in the nanosecond range eliminating network jitter associated with general-purpose, non-video-aware NIC cards . With built-in support for JT-NM TR-1001-1 -- including NMOS Device Registration and Discovery (IS-04) and NMOS Device Connection Management (IS-05), DSX LE5 cards provide for seamless integration in ST 2110 environments.

They provide an instantaneous H.264 quality and density boost offering the pristine quality needed for broadcast contribution, production and distribution. With the capability for up to four channels of 4K XAVC encoding/decoding in a single slot card, the M264 family enables OEMs to provide multi-channel 4K production servers in a PC platform. Supporting the H.264-based Sony XAVC and Panasonic AVC-Ultra mezzanine codecs, it makes live 4K production as easy as today’s XDCAM HD workflows in PC platforms.

The M264 family can encode/decode up to four streams of 4Kp60 at 4:2:2 10-bit, 40 streams of HD long GOP at 4:2:2 10-bit or 64 streams of HD at 4:2:0 8-bit. The faster than real-time encoding/decoding ability of the M264 allows multiple blazing fast transcodes for distribution on differing media platforms. With onboard multi-channel, motion-adaptive deinterlacing, and up/down/cross scaling, the M264 family can repurpose content into any resolution before encoding or after decoding, particularly beneficial for OTT workflows.

For live productions, any changes to the playlist during on-air sessions are possible. There are no queued or locked clips. Every clip in the playlist, except the one, which is currently playing, can be trimmed, edited, or re-positioned. Moreover, you can change the playlist order on-the-fly with commands like “skip to next” or “jump”. Such order changes are performed without stopping the current session. ARMADA Time Delay is a separate application, not associated with OASYS Player and runs on a separate dedicated server. It’s a fixed time delay solution that is designed for unattended, “set it and forget it” operation.

It provides multiple options to automatically time shift or delay live programming for up to 10 days and supports live inputs from SDI, SDI/IP or IP and outputs SD-SDI or HD-SDI. Aveco Ad Juggler – Master Control Automation Innovation for Sports Play Sponsorship

Aveco’s Ad Juggler is a dynamic ad-insertion technology designed specifically for unscheduled commercial breaks. With Ad Juggler, advertisements are pooled, prioritized, and queued so that the operator can quickly and easily insert ads into important moments of a dynamic broadcast such as sport events. Depending on priority, ads can be dynamically inserted at the most or least interesting times. For example, an ad with the highest priority can be inserted with one click by the operator, just after a goal during live sports broadcast, in order to get the highest monetary value from the unscheduled ad space. With Ad Juggler, advertisements are prioritized based on how many runs the ad has already had, and the general monetary value of the ad. This prioritization allows the system to juggle through ads for the highest monetization value so that the operator doesn't have to worry about it. At the same time, Ad Juggler tracks total commercial air-time so that any air-time limit is never exceeded.

 

Until recently, all high-end master control automation systems used in sports, including Aveco’s, have included alternate playlists to use in case of rain-delays, schedule over-runs/under-runs and in times of rapid changes.

You can’t predict what type of play will come up and the response needs to be instantaneous. Some advertisers want to sponsor a goal while others want a penalty shot, some a save or a touchdown and others a blocked shot. Multiple advertisers will want to sponsor these peaks-of-interest so traffic-derived rotational patterns are required.
