The Signature HA6+ is a broadcast specification, six way headphone amplifier, designed to operate in a mono or a stereo mode.

The HA6+ has 2 x XLR inputs that are used as the primary programme audio input, and 2 x XLR inputs that are used for the secondary aux audio input. These can be stereo, or, if a mono input, can be switched to appear on both sides of the headphones. There are left and right primary input gain controls on the rear panel, and they are on recessed screw terminals.

On the front panel there is a source control for each headphone output that allows a mix between the programme and aux input. Full left is programme only, full right is aux only, and anywhere in between is a variable mix.

Each of the six headphone amplifiers has its own volume level pot. There is also a master volume pot that controls the overall level of all amplifiers. This can be defeated via a rear panel dip switch.

Each of the six headphone outputs are available via front panel 6.35mm jack sockets, and in parallel on rear panel XLR connectors.

Rear panel inputs and outputs are electronically balanced on XLRs and can accommodate unbalanced connections if required.

Power is provided by an internal switch mode power supply, with a wide input range. There is also an input for external 12v DC power. The 12v DC input can be connected to the optional Signature PS1external DC Master Power Station, for situations where a redundant power supply is desirable.

The Signature UBBU2 is a broadcast specification stereo unbalanced to balanced, and balanced to unbalanced analogue audio interface that is equally suitable for professional & home studio use.

It is most commonly used for interconnecting domestic type recording/ playback devices to broadcast/ professional equipment.

Its primary job is to interface domestic type audio outputs (unbalanced) to the balanced audio inputs on broadcast and professional audio equipment while simultaneously connecting balanced outputs from professional equipment to the unbalanced inputs on domestic products.

As well as providing the balancing interface the UBBU2 also provides variable gain/ loss to allow the two connected pieces of equipment to match audio levels.

The two stereo circuits can both work as dual mono. Both the inputs are electronically isolated with RF filters to prevent extraneous signals, and fed via multi-turn preset gain controls on the rear panel to their outputs.

The rear panel gain controls are multi-turn presets to allow accurate gain setting and are also recessed to prevent accidental movement.

The Signature SW 8:2 is a broadcast specification, 8 mono/ 4 stereo source selector switch/ mixer.

There are 8 balanced audio inputs on 3 pin Neutrik XLR sockets on the rear panel and these can be set globally to be 8 mono inputs or 4 stereo inputs.

On the front panel there are 8 large illuminated buttons for turning sources on/ off. They work as 8 individual switches when in the mono mode and 4 pairs of stereo switches when the SW 8:2 is set to stereo.

Two balanced Neutrik XLR plugs on the rear panel provide the output of the unit, which will either be one single mono channel or 1 stereo channel when the unit is set to ‘switch’ mode or a mix of all selected sources when set to ‘mix’ mode.

Three rear panel dip switches allow for setting mix/switch, mono/stereo & output pre/post headphone volume pot.

The front panel features a 6.35mm stereo TRS jack socket for headphones monitoring, with a full size pot to adjust the volume level.  This headphone circuit monitors the output audio.

Power is provided by an internal switch mode power supply, with a wide input range.  There is also an input for external +/-12v DC power.  The +/-12v DC input can be connected to the optional Signature PS1 external DC Master Power Station, for situations where a redundant power supply is desirable.

The Signature HA1M is a broadcast specification 2 channel headphone amplifier, designed to operate in a mono or a stereo mode.

The HA1M has 2 x XLR inputs that can be used as either a stereo input, or as 2 x mono inputs. There is a selector switch to change between mono and stereo modes.

In stereo mode, the left input goes to the left ear, and the right input goes to the right ear. Each input has its own level pot for adjusting the volume level in the left or right ear.

In the mono mode, each input goes to both headphone outputs. The level pots adjust the relevant input levels in both ears.

There are 2 x headphone outputs on jack sockets. One is 6.35mm and the other is 3.5mm. The headphone circuits can accept stereo connections, or mono connections from single earpieces. The headphone drivers are independent and so varying impedance connections can be used in either socket at the same time.

The rear panel has a single XLR output that is a mix of both inputs.

Rear panel inputs and outputs are electronically balanced on XLRs and can accommodate unbalanced connections if required.

Power SuppliesThe Signature PS1 Power Station provides a fully resilient back up power supply to your Signature Series units. It contains two switch mode power supplies, each capable of powering up to three separate Signature Series units. A pair of bright front panel LEDs indicate that each power supply is on and active. The master AC power input accepts 100-240 VAC for worldwide compatibility.

Master And Back Up PowerAs well as providing a backup DC supply for up to six Signature Series units, the PS1 can also act as master DC power distribution to six Signature units.

Safety FeaturesAll outputs are individually fused so a short circuit on one will not affect any of the others.

InstallationFor ease of installation and to allow quick connectivity to other Signature Series units, every Signature PS1is shipped with 6 x 4 pin XLR DC cables which are each two metres long.

As the PS1 is only 336mm wide without the rack ears, it can easily be installed inside equipment racks, and fixed vertically via the flush mounting side wings. This will provides the convenience of power distribution or backup, without taking up any rack space.

The Signature SD1+ is a silence detector used to switch audio to a backup source when the primary audio source falls below accepted silence thresholds in level or time. These are often used on a broadcast path to prevent dead air should a technical problem occur with the audio.

The audio connections are stereo, on analogue XLRs. There is an input pair for the primary source, and an input pair for the backup source. The SD1+ can also be configured as a twin single channel silence detector. The backup source is usually coming from an audio player which can be remotely started by the SD1+ via a GPO should silence be detected.

Each channel can have the configuration parameters set independently. The threshold at which the unit detects a low level is configurable, as is the amount of time that the audio needs to be under this level before an alarm condition is triggered and the audio is switched to the backup input.

A comprehensive set of GPIOs allow for triggering external devices when the secondary input has been triggered.

Intelligent modes can be set to allow for switching back to the primary audio source once a sustained audio level has returned.

With a stereo audio source, if one channel should fail, the SD1+ can be set to switch this single input to both outputs, making a problem unnoticeable to any listeners, whilst at the same time still providing alarm outputs so the engineers can be alerted.

An internal switch mode power supply is provided along with an external ±12v DC input for the main or backup power supply of the Signature PS1 Power Station.

Silence Detection ParametersFor the detection of drops in audio level, a threshold can be specified between -60dB to -10dB. If the audio level is under this level for a set amount of time, then the SD1+ will switch to the backup source, preventing any dead air situations. The fail delay time is configurable between 5 seconds and 5 minutes. When the audio switches to the backup source, a GPO is triggered to start a backup audio source which is connected to the backup input. A GPO is created so that the engineering department are alerted. All switching between the primary and backup source is silent.

When primary audio has returned, the SD1+ can be used in manual or automatic mode. In automatic, the SD1+ switches back to the main input after a recovery delay, that’s configurable between 5-60 seconds. In manual mode, the main input must be selected via the front panel or via a GPI switch.

Stereo Or Dual MonoThe SD1+ can monitor a single stereo source and switch the output to a backup source if a silence condition is triggered. It can also act as a dual mono silence detector, taking in 2 mono sources and switching them independently, to their own backup audio in the event of a silence condition trigger.

In stereo mode, if one channel becomes silent, the SD1+ can perform two configurable functions. It can either feed the one good primary input to both primary outputs, or trigger the silence detect to switch to the backup input.

Audio ConnectionsThe audio connections are stereo on analogue XLRs. There is an input pair for the primary source, and an input pair for the backup source. The backup source can be selected to be at 0dB or +10dB. The +10dB option allows for the connection of a domestic level audio source, such as a CD or a memory card player, that may be used as the backup.

Smart Fail & Smart RecoverySmart recovery mode prevents pops and clicks from triggering the recovery switch back to the main input, and waits for a configurable period of time. This allows full recovery of the audio before switching back to the primary source.

LoopsA 25way d type connector contains all of the available GPIO, for output remote starts and alarms, and for input switching. There are GPOs to indicate if the primary or backup input is active, which can be used as an alarm that a backup switch has been activated.

Configuration ScreenA front panel screen shows visual feedback of the status of each input, and the value of the fail or recovery timer. This screen also access’s the menu for configuration.

Bypass RelaysIn event of power failure the primary audio input is switched directly to the audio output via relays, so that there is no loss of audio.

Power SupplyThe SD1 has an internal switch mode 100-240v AC power supply using an IEC connection. There is also an external ±12v DC input to connect to the Signature PS1 Power Station as the primary or backup power supply.

The ADA 1:8G has 1 x single channel input that is distributed to 8 x mono outputs, each with its own gain control.

The output gains are on front panel multi turn potentiometers (recessed to prevent accidental operation). Its primary job is to interface domestic type audio outputs (unbalanced) to the balanced audio inputs on broadcast and professional audio equipment while simultaneously connecting balanced outputs from professional equipment to the unbalanced inputs on domestic products.

As well as providing the balancing interface the UBBU4 also provides variable gain/ loss to allow the two connected pieces of equipment to match audio levels.All the stereo circuits can both work as dual mono. All the inputs are electronically isolated with RF filters to prevent extraneous signals, and fed via multi-turn preset gain controls on the rear panel to their outputs.

The rear panel gain controls are multi-turn presets to allow accurate gain setting and are also recessed to prevent accidental movement.

Power is provided by an internal switch mode power supply, with a wide input range. There is also an input for external 12v DC power. The 12v DC input can be connected to the optional Signature PS1external DC Master Power Station, for situations where a redundant power supply is desirable.

A bright front panel LED indicates that the unit is operational.

The Signature SW 8:2+ is a broadcast specification, 8 mono/ 4 stereo source selector switch/ mixer with PPM.

There are 8 balanced audio inputs on 3 pin Neutrik XLR sockets on the rear panel and these can be set globally to be 8 mono inputs or 4 stereo inputs.

On the front panel there are 8 large illuminated buttons for turning sources on/ off. They work as 8 individual switches when in the mono mode and 4 pairs of stereo switches when the SW 8:2+ is set to stereo.

Two balanced Neutrik XLR plugs on the rear panel provide the output of the unit, which will either be one single mono channel or 1 stereo channel when the unit is set to ‘switch’ mode or a mix of all selected sources when set to ‘mix’ mode.

Three rear panel dip switches allow for setting mix/switch, mono/stereo & output pre/post headphone volume pot.

The front panel features a 6.35mm stereo TRS jack socket for headphones monitoring, with a full size pot to adjust the volume level.  This headphone circuit monitors the output audio.

A stereo 28 LED Peak Programme Meter (PPM) is also provided on the front panel for a visual indication of the audio currently being routed/ mixed to the output. The PPM provides a 1 dB resolution per LED.

Power is provided by an internal switch mode power supply, with a wide input range.  There is also an input for external +/-12v DC power.  The +/-12v DC input can be connected to the optional Signature PS1 external DC Master Power Station, for situations where a redundant power supply is desirable.

The DDA 1:6 is a cost effective distribution amplifier for digital AES signals.  Via rear panel XLRs there is a single input and 6 outputs.

The output signals can pass straight through without any normalising.  This is useful if you need syncronisation to be maintained. There is also an option to re-normalise all of the output signals to ensure that all outputs are at the full digital level again.  It is important to realise that re-normalising a digital signal while often desirable, does cost one sample.

A headphone monitoring position is also provided on the front panel via a 6.35mm stereo jack socket.  This allows monitoring of the incoming audio signal via a variable level pot.

LEDs indicate AES lock or if there is an AES error.

Kathrein Smart Monitoring is an innovative monitoring system for radio and TV transmitter stations. Using special sensors, the system, which Kathrein is developing together with the Swiss company “DAC System SA”, measures all important operating parameters of the transmitter station components in real time and compares them with the target values of the controlled operation. All measured data are fully recorded and can be an early indication of possible degradations. The station operator can easily access the measurement results over an IP network at any time. Critical changes in conditions and violations of threshold values release an alarm which is reported via app, text message or email.

he TR12 provides a large and clear timecode display for situations where the size of the display needs to be as large as possible in a 1u space.  The red display is in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames.  The timecode input is via an analogue XLR connection or is switchable between two optional Dante network sources.

 There is also a further timecode distribution function.  There are four analogue outputs on XLR and a further 7 outputs on a dtype connection.  The XLR and dtype outputs have separate trim adjustment.  There is a brightness adjustment for the display and AC mains power supply.

The Signature ADA 2:6 is a broadcast specification 6 way stereo analogue distribution amplifier, designed to distribute one or two audio channels to multiple destinations.

The ADA 2:6 has 1 x stereo input that is distributed to 6 x stereo outputs. A front panel toggle switch changes the operation of the unit to a mono distribution amplifier with 1 input and 12 outputs. The mono/stereo front panel toggle switch is recessed to prevent accidental operation and also provides the user with clear visual indication of the current mode.

Input gains controls are provided for both left and right inputs. These gain controls are accessed from the front panel and are multi turn preset pots (recessed to prevent accidental operation).

Audio inputs and outputs are electronically balanced on XLRs and can accommodate unbalanced connections if required. All outputs are protected, so a short circuit on one will not affect any of the others.

The AoIP44 is an economical subrack designed to interface balanced analogue audio circuits to and from a Network audio system featuring Dante. It provides 4 audio inputs to the network and also 4 audio outputs from the network on balanced 3 pin XLRs. As well as being mains powered with the standard signature backup DC powering option, the AoIP44 can be powered from an external PoE source via its network interface.

The AoIP can be used as a simple low cost audio I/O break out unit on a large Dante audio network where it can be integrated extremely easily using the Dante controller and is fully compatible with any manufacturers Dante equipment. It can also be used in very simple audio over IP scenarios where just 4 bi-directional audio circuits are needed to be distributed across a building's network infrastructure, in which case 2 x AoIP44 units can be used connected together across the network. The AoIP44 is equally suited for high integrity broadcast purposes, intercom, just simple paging facilities or simple distribution of non-critical audio.

Being part of our Signature Range the AoIP44 comes as standard with removable rack ears (to allow front or rear mounting in 19" racks), mounting holes to allow under desk mounting (the holes are equally suited for screwing the unit into odd places!) and an optional external DC power supply for applications requiring redundant power supplies. Divine is a new concept in powered network audio monitors. It is housed in a hard-wearing fully sealed die cast enclosure, is powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE) and boasts the very latest low noise high output class D power amplifier.

Internally a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) takes careful care of the audio signals, including state of the art compression and limiting circuits, while a microprocessor provides full setup and control via a small rear panel LCD. Control of setup and day

to day operation of the Divine will also be available on our Windows 10 application GlenController including the ability to group multiple Divines together and control their level simultaneously.

Divine can receive up to four* Dante (AES67 compliant) audio over IP (AoIP) inputs.  These inputs can be selected by the user on a large clear front panel select switch.  The four audio inputs can also be easily mixed together and their individual levels adjusted.

A priority system is provided to allow one (or more) of the inputs to automatically duck another. This can be very useful if you want to monitor one source but also listen to another when audio is present, such as sending show relay to dressing rooms in a theatre but having the stage manager's call and building fire alarm take precedence when they’re active.

The die cast enclosure has been carefully designed to provide full protection of all control knobs, switches and ports to prevent damage. Uniquely, the housing also features a standard PC screen Vesa mount, meaning that you can purchase any standard Vesa mounting solution to hang/ mount your Divine on, saving you lots of money. Standard microphone stand threads are also provided in the base for an alternative support solution.

Different preset EQs and an LF cut can all be set in the user menu to allow the Divine to be used for a variety of applications.

Links To Dante Compatible Network Or DARK88 Break Out BoxInferno can be used on its own when connected to a Dante audio network. Many audio routers, consoles and intercom systems are Dante compatible, and will accept the Inferno link, enabling Glensound grade commentary into the audio network.

Inferno can also be used outside of a dedicated Dante network when connected to one of our DARK or AoIP44 break out boxes. This connection can be direct or across a structured network. The DARK or AoIP44 units allow all of the audio inputs and outputs to be located in a place separate from the Inferno.

Programmable On A Dante Audio NetworkWhen connected to a Dante network, sources and destinations can be configured from any part of the network using the free Dante controller software. Details are available at www.audinate.com.

Seven Talkback CircuitsThe seven illuminated talkback buttons route the audio input to 7 different destinations and remove the audio from the main programme output.

Eight Input Headphone MixerSeven external sources plus sidetone are presented on eight level controls allowing the user to create their own required monitoring mix of all sources. Each input can be independently selected to be on the user's left ear, right ear or both ears. The headphone connection is available on a 3.5mm and a 6.35mm jack socket.

Single InputThe single input is switchable on the rear panel to be line/mic/48v and has adjustable input gain. The input also features Glensound’s Referee compressor limiter system. This applies a variable rate compressor to the input peaks so that no clipping occurs, without affecting the rest of the audio signal.

Remote ControlThe Inferno contains a web server, allowing remote functionality to an engineer from any PC connected to the network via any web browser.  Enter the IP address of the Inferno in the browser for remote control of the front end mic gain.  It also allows configuration of each push button on the unit to be on/off latching, momentary (push to talk), always on, and off when pushed (cough), or in an intelligent mode where a short press latches or a longer press is just momentary.

Paradiso Lite is a commentators' box for 3 commentators. It can be used by itself to provide the commentary facilities alongside an OB truck for small events or multiple Paradiso Lites can be used at large events that require Worldwide broadcast coverage.

Audio links between the Paradiso and other equipment are by Dante (AES67 compliant) complete with redundant copper links. Analogue I/O and AES3 I/O are also provided directly from the unit for local connections and / or another layer of redundancy.

Virgil was the Roman poet who guided Dante through Hell and Purgatory, the Glensound Virgil is a clever little headphone amplifier for providing crystal clear audio into studio & broadcast headphones.

Packaged in a small & robust format and designed to be permanently mounted in studios wherever a headphone circuit is required, the Virgil provides a simple interface between Dante network audio systems and users headphones.

The Virgil encompasses our unique headphone amplifier circuit which automatically provides the correct output level to match the impedance of the attached headphones (to produce the same volume high impedance headphones require a much greater output level than low impedance).

Virgil receives 2 x audio circuits from a Dante network and routes one to the left and the other to the right channel of the headphone amplifier. A front panel volume control allows the user to adjust the output volume.

Three mounting holes are supplied to enable the Virgil to be mounted underneath a studio desk in a suitable location for the users headphones. Needing just 1 single network cable to carry both power & audio to the Virgil makes installation very simple.

As well as being suitable for low & high impedance headphones our unique headphone amplifier circuit can be connected to both stereo headphones & mono earpieces, making the Virgil suitable for driving television presenters ear pieces.

InputsThe main input is switchable between mic, mic+48v phantom power, and line. The input has an adjustable gain control to meet a wide range of dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones. The input passes through a broadcast quality dsp controlled compressor/limiter circuit prior to the A/D converters to maximise headroom and designed to manage the peaks of excited commentary. The A/D converters are full broadcast spec low noise, 48K 24bit designed for on air use.

Outputs/TalkbackThere are two output circuits. One is used as the main programme audio, the other as a talkback circuit. There are separate button controls for each of these using Config+. They can each can be independently configured for latching or momentary, with the programme button also having a 'cough' feature. All talkback I/O connections are via the RJ45/CAT5 Dante network audio connection.

MonitoringThere are two monitoring inputs each with independent level control. Each of these inputs can be switched from the left ear, right ear, or both ears to the stereo headphone amplifier. The headphone amplifier is our high performance intelligent circuit which automatically adjusts its output level for high or low impedance headphones and can also drive mono earpieces and headphones.

There are 2 off 4 LED level meters both indicating -12 to +6 dB. One LED meter is located on the front panel to enable easy visualisation of the audio levels if the VITA is being used as a table top device and the other meter is located on the top panel facing the operator when used by its beltclip.

PowerVia PoE on the network connection, or via an external DC power supply.

The VITA is often used as a remote link to the main commentary unit. It is favoured by pitch side interviewers, and is popular in combinations with wireless systems.

The VITA BB PLUS is a very powerful Dante network audio interface, in a traditional desktop style.  It has a mic/line input and headphone monitoring connection for a single user, and contains two 4 wire circuits.  One of these is typically used as an on air channel, and the other as a talkback channel.

The high quality microphone input, with the Glensound Referee compressor,  makes the Vita BB Plus suitable for on air commentary use,  perfect for a small OB or in an off-tube booth.

The flexibility of the talk button configurations, means that the Vita BB Plus can also be used as a talkback unit as part of a Dante / AES67 network.

MinFerno is designed for a single commentator/ announcer to use, and like its big brother the Inferno, it provides the very best possible commentary microphone amplifier and compressor limiter circuit for amazing on air sound.

Redundant Powering OptionsThe MinFerno can be powered from any of 3 different sources:1) PoE on the Primary CAT5 Network link2) PoE on the Secondary CAT5 Network link3) External 12V DCFour of rear panel LEDs show the availability of the 3 power sources.

Primary & Secondary SFP SlotsThe SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) fibre slots are standard networking ports that accept standard SFP modules. This means that you decide what type of fibre and connector style you want to use just by the SFP module that you insert. The primary & secondary network circuits allow for glitch free redundancy across both the Fibre & Copper network interfaces.

Primary & Secondary Copper Network Connections with PoETwo CAT6 connections on Neutrik Ethercons (that accept standard networking cables) are provided to allow copper connections to local network switches to carry the Dante/ AES67 audio. Two connections are fitted to allow redundant circuits to be used if required.Both of these connectors can accept a PoE power source for providing the power to the MinFerno.

Input Mode & GainOne pair of push buttons selects the input type of the front panel XLR to be either microphone, line or microphone with 48V phantom power. 3 LEDs indicate which input mode is selected.Two push buttons are used to alter the gain of the input. LEDs indicate if the gain setting is above or below our pre-configured ‘lineup’ levels. The front panel PPM of course provides an accurate indication of the input level.The gain can also be altered remotely by a web browser pointing at the MinFerno's web page.

Up to 4 of Incoming Audio Volume ControlsOn the top panel are up to 5 rotary headphone volume controls. 4 of these are connected to 4 incoming audio circuits from the Dante/ AES67 network. These are normally used for such sources as mixed programme or cue, talkback to director, talkback to producer, talkback to engineer etc.

Sidetone Volume ControlThe 5th front panel rotary headphone volume control is ‘sidetone’. Sidetone is the commentator's own voice in their own ears.

Headphone RoutingEach of the 5 headphone volume controls has an associated left ear, right ear, both routing switch located next to the volume knob. This single push button switch routes the associated source to just the left, just the right or both channels of the stereo headphone amplifier. To enable the commentator to know how they are routing a circuit the first time a routing switch is pressed, a pair of LEDs on the front panel indicate its current routing arrangement. The next time the routing switch is pressed then the next routing option is selected.

Robust Mic On and Talkback ButtonsThere are up to 4 of large bright illuminated buttons (1 for programme and up to 3 for talkback). These switches route the outgoing microphone circuit onto up to 4 different Dante/ AES67 network audio circuits. The operation of these switches (momentary, latching etc) and the interaction of these switches (i.e. pressing a talkback switch mutes the main mic) can be fully configured via the web page.

15 segment LED PPM MeterAudio input level is indicated on the 15 segment PPM meter.

Low Noise Microphone Amplifier With Remote GainWe spent a long time optimising the performance of the THAT corporation microphone amplifier used in the original Inferno and used again on the MinFerno. It features very low noise & distortion circuit that we remote control the gain of in 1dB steps, which allows us to provide the remote webpage gain control as well as the rear panel gain push buttons. We also optimised the circuits to allow correct source impedance switching depending on whether the input has been set as a mic or line input.

Referee Compressor LimiterAs with all our commentary units, the MinFerno features our very popular Referee compressor limiter circuit. This circuit starts to compress the commentator’s voice gradually and slowly increases the compression ratio as the input level becomes overly high, resulting in a very natural sounding and distortion free audio output capable of taming even the loudest of commentators.

High Quality Analogue To Digital Converter (ADC)Dante/ AES67 network audio is a digital circuit and as such the best analogue microphone amplifier would be wasted if we hadn’t paired it up with the best analogue to digital converter. The ADCs job is fairly simple, and if you look at our tech spec you’ll see that we’ve made ours work incredibly well.

Unique Headphone AmplifiersThe commentator’s headphones are a vitally important tool so we take as much care with our headphone amplifiers as with our on air microphones. Our unique headphone amplifier provides the correct output level regardless of the impedance of the attached headphones, meaning that broadcasters can now pick and choose between low impedance ‘cheap’ headphones and high impedance traditional broadcast ones.

The GS-CU001B MkII is a highly versatile commentary unit. It was designed after close consultation with end users and the result is a stand alone unit which offers a wide range of facilities, and it is equally at home on the terraces, as it is in a studio.

The MkII VersionThe MkII version now adds the following as standard features:

- 48v phantom power

- upgraded input gain pot

- input gain range increased from -20 to +10 dB

- GPOs on Mic and talkback buttons to allow integration with main intercom or talkback system

VERSION 3 (TT): This version has transformer balanced inputs & outputs with high quality Llundhall transformers on the individual mic outputs.

InputsThree front panel inputs are mic/line switchable with selectable 48v phantom power. The front panel also has a small gain adjustment pot. Mic on/off switches can be selected in on/off mode or in cough mode. There is a global low frequency cut that can be selected on or off, and a preset compressor/limiter per input.

Outputs/TalkbackEach input has a direct discrete output on the rear panel along with a mixed output of all of the inputs, all on XLR. The mixed output is also available on an un-balanced 3.5mm jack socket as a local record. The direct output levels can be set in 3 positions:

1: 0dB + limiter: This is the normal operation and it limits peak levels.

2: 0dB: This feeds the output with an un-compressed nominal level of 0dB, for when the peak signal level will be controlled by outboard equipment.

3: -20dB: This feeds the output with a nominal level of -20dB providing extra headroom.

There are 3 common talkback circuits with individual buttons on the two main commentators’ sections (Position B's input cannot be switched to a talkback output). The operation of the talkback buttons features Config+ for configuring in different modes.

MonitoringThere are two main commentator monitoring sections, each with two separate 6.35mm A or B gauge jack sockets for headphones. In this way, the centre position B commentator can choose to share the monitoring of commentator A or C. There are 5 common external sources available for monitoring, plus an additional control which is the sum of the other 2 commentators/inputs. Each of the 6 pots has variable level control and left/both/right switching allowing commentator A and C to achieve their desired mix and balance levels. The sidetone control is located on the rear panel for commentator A and C to adjust the level of their own voice. There is a 7 segment LED PPM meter.

PowerThere is an internal switch mode power supply 100-250v AC, with external power via a 4 pin XLR 9-18v DC.

ModificationsThe GS-CU001 is a complete and versatile base system, and Glensound's most popular commentary unit. It is therefore a perfect starting point for custom requirements. This has resulted in many custom modified units, some listed above, and some not. We are always happy to investigate a particular requirement that you may have. To give you an idea of what is possible, these are some of the modifications, we have designed previously for others:

The Signature ADA2S12MGT is a broadcast specification 12 way mono analogue distribution amplifier, designed to distribute a stereo audio channels to multiple mono destinations.

The ADA 2S12MGT has 1 x stereo input that is distributed to 12 x mono outputs. The two audio inputs (1 stereo circuit) each have their own input gain preset controls. These allow an engineer to set the inputs up to work with levels that suit you, such as mono out = A+B-3 or A+B-6 or 0dB in = 0dB out, or even adjust the inputs for accepting unbalanced domestic levels.

Each of the 12 outputs also have preset gain controls, this allows different outputs to be connected and lined up with different systems.

Audio inputs and outputs are transformer balanced on XLRs and can accommodate unbalanced connections if required. The input & output gains are on front panel multi turn potentiometers (recessed to prevent accidental operation). They provide a wide gain range to cope with the different gain level requirements of broadcast or domestic level equipment.

All outputs are protected, so a short circuit on one will not affect any of the others.

Audio transformers help to make this unit an ultra reliable broadcast distribution amplifier suitable for the heart of your operation.

Power is provided by an internal switch mode power supply, with a wide input range. There is also an input for external 12v DC power. The 12v DC input can be connected to the optional Signature PS1external DC Master Power Station, for situations where a redundant power supply is desirable.

A bright front panel LED indicates that the unit is operational.

RouteMaster Lite brings familiar video routing capabilities to Newtek’s NDI® video. Based on our proven RouteMaster system, it gives operators a range of familiar control interfaces for controlling video switching.

Switching is suitable for all live, on-air applications, making RouteMaster Lite ideal for fast manual intervention.

No video streams are passed through the router system, instead traffic is redirected at the network level.  This means only minimal bandwidth and processor requirements are needed, regardless of the number of video streams and resolution. There’s also no additional video delay through the system. Additionally, RouteMaster Lite does not become a central point of failure: If the router system fails for any reason, video continues to flow from sources to destinations uninterrupted.

RouteMaster Lite is ideal for OB and production environments, supporting up to 20 sources and 20 destinations. For larger systems with more complex requirements, the same NDI switching technology is available in the full-featured RouteMaster system.

The built-in GUI is ideal for preset and take switching, showing resizeable video previews and audio metering  of the current video and the chosen source.

External Control

While control from the built-in GUI is fast and easy, it’s not ideal for all situations. Therefore RouteMaster lite supports external control from:

The Airlink family of mobile encoders is Mobile Viewpoint’s flagship product. With the a range of unique features and developments, the Airlink products are the most technological advanced mobile encoders available today.

In use by many global broadcasters to create high quality and low latency video feeds for outside broadcast and live remote production, the Airlink can support up to 4 cameras simultaneously, can transmit 4K, and can include internal 5G modems.

The unit is capable of supporting up to 40MB/sec over bonded networks and can transmit back to a studio or to the cloud using up to and including 8 internal 3G/4G/5G modems, Wi-Fi, LAN and/or satellite and can bond all these connections to make a single high bandwidth connection. By using adaptive bitrate, the Airlinks optimize the video feed based on the available bandwidth ensuring high quality video even in the most demanding of situations.

The lightweight and modest size encoder can fit into a backpack and is battery powered. It supports many of the features expected of a mobile encoder including both H.265 and H.264 encoding, Store & Forward for internal storage, 2-way audio IFB intercom and return video.

The Airlinks also boast a range of additional features including remote RCP control, Tally Control, IP streaming at the same time as video streaming, and the system can be used as a secure Wi-Fi hot spot even while live. It also includes a unique feature called 2Waylink allowing encoder-to-encoder streaming. All encoders in the field can be remotely managed and controlled via Linkmatrix, a free-to-use management platform that operates from a browser on any device. This means non-technical journalists and production people in the field do not need to manage the units directly. Linkmatrix can manage individual encoders, destinations, show proxies,record & go, video return, networks and other set ups and configurations.
