TICO-XS is a disruptive, innovative, visually lossless, light-weight and line-based compression technology, specifically designed to be used instead of uncompressed video in many applications. It is currently under standardization as JPEG XS.

TICO-XS is a smart upgrade path to manage higher resolutions (4K, 8K, …) and frame rates while assuring visual quality, keeping power and bandwidth at a reasonable budget and significantly reducing the complexity and cost of a system, a chip or an infrastructure.

From 3G-SDI to IP in 4K

The mapping of the TICO-XS mezzanine compression to carry UHDTV 4K 60P over a single 3G-SDI cable has been specified in the SMPTE RDD35. intoPIX provides the needed building blocks to create a 4K over 3G-SDI solutions. As SMPTE ST2022-6, defines the transport of HD-SDI or 3G-SDI over IP, using TICO-XS, it is easy to leverage an existing SMPTE 2022-6 system to carry up to three UHDTV 4K 60P streams over a single 10 GbE port using the SMPTE 2022-6 standard.

The SDMP-4S or Software Defined Media Platform is a modular microserver designed to run software applications (apps) that require intense computational processing power and very low latency. Although the SDMP has a system architecture that has similarities to conventional servers, it uses state-of-the-art technology that provides the processing capabilities needed in apps such as live television production, financial trading and deep machine learning. Multiple apps can be staged on a microserver simultaneously enabling extensive adaptability for the platform. The microserver is based on the data concept of ‘single unit of deployment’ to run all apps. The apps can be downloaded as containerized bit files from an app store or repository and then run from memory in the low latency recomposable processor (FPGA). Physical access to the SDMP is accommodated via four SFP+/video SFP (small form factor pluggable) cages on the front panel of the microserver and two 10GbE parallel interface card edge connections at the rear. The microserver operates in the Aperi A1105 Ethernet Switch/Compute Platform (see A1105 data sheet). The A1105 platform can house up to five microservers and each microserver interfaces to ports on the Ethernet Switch in the A1105 via the two 10GbE ports on the microserver edge connector. This topology enables the seamless deployment of clusters of Ethernet connected microservers in a truly elastic architecture. The microserver has its own Linux based Aperi operating system. This OS has an associated ‘infrastructure API’ which is independent of the Open APIs that are integrated within each app that runs on the microserver. The microserver API assists with the orchestration and deployment of apps onto a microserver from an app repository.

Any app running on the microserver has as an integrated web server with an automatically discoverable intuitive user interface. The web server is accessed via the management port of the platform in which the microserver running the app is populated. Comprehensive information related to the microserver hardware on which the app is running is also accessible via this UI.

The compact size of the server and the wide range of available options make it indispensable for live broadcasting of any sporting events and recording for editing of various TV shows.

The IQ Sports Producer makes live and on-demand web broadcasting available without the hassle of hiring an entire camera crew. The system provides an automated video broadcast production with up to 3 180-degree cameras, which makes it possible to upgrade from a single camera to a multi camera production. The superb de-warping and stitching technology provides a natural-looking corrected image with straight line-markings.

With this technology, cost-effective cameras can be used for complete coverage of the playing field. A pan and zoomed image is automatically created by special developed game tracking technology. Management of Video feeds

The main function of LinkMatrix is to connect video sources with TS decoders such as IRD or social media platforms such as Facebook.

Remote control

With the LinkMatrix all systems in the field can be easily controlled and monitored. They can be remotely accessed and all settings on the units can be changed. The user-friendly architecture assures that the remote-control GUI is the same as seen in the field, facilitating true remote support.

Remote production management

In combination with our Multicam units, it is possible to do a true remote production of a multi camera event. In combination with our VPilot platform, it is possible to do the complete production with just a single operator on site. LinkMatrix also supports RS-422 output, enabling remote production with cameras from Sony, Panasonic and others.

LinkMix

The LinkMatrix serves as the heart of all our services and products, and can also function as a video router when combined with the MVP LinkSwitch server. The LinkMatrix production tab offers features such as the creation of playlists, overlays, live switches and tickers to enable the production of complete IPTV channels. Playlists can be generated with exports from original WMT streams, as well as from other clips using the upload function, and can be either wall-clock based or interruptible. Interruptible playlists introduce leaders and pre- and post-roles for live productions targeted to platforms such as Facebook. they can also be used to insert advertisements before and during the broadcast of sports events.

Multicamera

For our multicamera units, LinkMatrix supports web-based PTZ control as well as shading and color correction.

A distinctive feature of the "Simple R" servers is their small size (1U) and weight. These are broadcast grade systems with all necessary functions for Production and Replays. The basic configuration allows export of recorded video for the subsequent nonlinear editing.

Simple R III is equipped with 16 bi-directional SDI I/O.

In its basic configuration, the Simple R III supports 662 mode for HD/SD resolutions: 6 recording + 6 search + 2 playback channels + FX.

The top configuration provides:

• For HD/SD SDI: Up to 7 recording channels + 7 search channels + 2 playback channels + FX


• For 3G SDI: 4 recording channels + 4 search channels + 2 playback channels + FX

Simple R III is the only server that can accommodate a second workplace. Two operators can simultaneously and independently work with 442 configurations (4 recording channels + 4 search channels + 2 playback channels + FX).

For exchange of clips and playlists between slomo.tv servers Simple R III is equipped with 1GbE network interface.

The Simple R III comes with Control Zx which can be replaced with Control ZR.

It is also possible to add an 8-channel, super high-speed USB 3.0 SD card reader (SDX option). SD cards are used for exporting and importing video materials, as well as for recording to H.264 Proxy or ProRes standards.
